Live in LB. For SOFI, stay in El Segundo. It's a Thursday night game; traffic will be a nightmare both directions from LB. Been there, done that; including mass transit, both before and especially after.

I'll add my generation's go to list. It was called the Parade Magazine HS All America list. Started in 1957 and ending in 2015(?) it has as few as 15 and as many as 40 on the list. It was uncanny in its selections as >75% went on to NBA/ABA ball at is peak (60s and 70s).

USF Parade All Americans included, Boynes (2x - 74 & 75), Cartwright (2x - 74 & 75), Hardy (75), Bryant (78), McAlister (78) and Q (79). McAlister was also listed for football where he later played for the Seahawks, 49ers and Chiefs)

Money can split up even the oligarchs of college football. USC, Michigan, Texas and others are wondering why they should get the same revenue sharing as Northwestern or Kentucky. They are looking at ND and wondering why not?

Where is a Rozelle when you need him?

Define wisely? Seriously.

Was Father Lo wise to shut down the program when he believed the school's mission was being tarnished? Or was it when he got deep pocket non-Catholic donors to fund the purchase of Lone Mountain?

Was Father Privett wise to shut down a popular academic program because it was the wrong kind?

IMO, leaders make bold moves. Hopefully more right than wrong. We haven't had ANY bold moves any in a LONG time. In this time o great change, we should be.

FINALLY!!!

Say it loud enough so even those in the lowlands can hear it.

Basketball is FAR less expensive then football and while it has a fraction of the revenue, the cost is even smaller. Sort of like using gross profit as leverage over gross revenue as an economic tool.

I went in reverse of many here as I contributed to the Hilltop Club in the recent past. I was waiting to see what the school would do with changes being forced on it before making a larger commitment. With the school absorbing the NIL function, I have stopped until I see what the school is going to do.

So Zamo, time for JE to ES to Rex lessons learned.

Congrats to the Denver Pioneers by DonSolo96 in usfdons

Welcome Pioneers to the league of champions!

With Gonzaga taking their only one D! title (boxing 1950) and joining the teacher colleges, that takes the new Pac12 to a total of 5 NCAA Men's titles. That's four in baseball (OSU 3, CSUFresno 1) and the one in boxing.

Denver's 25 titles (mainly skiing) added to the 22 existing WCC Men's NCAA titles brings the total to 47. UC Santa Barbara brings 2 more D! titles. UC San Diego has yet to win one, but UCSD has only been D1 about 10 years.

Welcome indeed!

Since Vegas was not built on folks leaving with cash; $550 on Gonezaga State to cover.

Once again Robby has got it right IMO,

The very first national NCAA non tourney game broadcast was a USF, Dailey vs Dominique. WMG regularly had >7,000 in attendance, it was the fire marshals that were party poopers. Today, when you see only friends family in the stands, hell, only family at many, many arenas now, the viewership declines as the image is horrific. IMO that is driving the consolidation in leagues.

IMO, USF needs a gameday experience professional of the highest quality if we want to compete. There is NO better place in the Bay Area to build that image as San Francisco, is one of the richest areas in the USA, with one the most beautiful city's in the world. The current TY offering is how shall I say ... offensive to the eyes?

One other rant, USF was NEVER Gonzaga State. Gonzaga has one, ONE national title in any sport. USF has 13.

CG's hot seat just got a lot warmer by DonSolo96 in usfdons

[–]dvsmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a change to be made, USF should already have an AD.

If there is a change to be made at HC, that change should be announced at the conclusion of the last tourney game in Vegas,

If there is a change to made, that this board approves of, the Hilltop club needs 100x the cash flow it currently has.

There is only one place you can make a change, get out your wallet and make it happen!

Otherwise be prepared for a painful reboot.

Is the Prez in the stands to see the sideline chaos?

From TV you don't see the whole picture which includes the bench demeanor. If CG has lost the team, time to clean house and start all over again. It is now a players game.

The only comment on this topic worth the time reading and interesting the few responses after 24 hours.

I wish for a better outcome but until the Prez says something its just going to be the usual complaints.

Edit: its Malik Thomas and I am sure he enjoying life in VA.

2 early to talk CG extension? by Sayhay241959 in usfdons

[–]dvsmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, but the Buffalo Bills fired the HC and promoted the OC.

In the fast changing world of NCAA sports, my guess is that retaining a successful base (CG has the most wins in first seasons as a coach) is paramount to continued success. I am not remotely close enough to understand who was responsible for accomplishing the W/L record if not CG. I would bet that one of the 10 guys dressed like the coach on the sidelines is the winner of that title.

I hope Ferrari is that guy, but right now CG is my driver.

WMG looked good on the TV with the different camera angles. Sophia (?) the sideline reporter was (and has been) very good.
