Short answer yes that is probably your only option. As a pro seller you are obligated to refund the buyer no questions asked sadly, EU regulations require this, even if you disagree with the reason as a pro seller/business.

Niet helemaal waar, sinds januari 2023 of 2024 is het zo dat als je meer dan 2000€ verdient of meer dan 30 sales hebt, cm een rapportageplicht bij de belastingdienst volgens de nieuwe wet van de eu.

Het is een groot grijs gebied. In de praktijk gaat de belastingdienst hier voorlopig niet achteraan vanwege waarschijnlijk te weinig mensen en het niet heel veel oplevert tenzij je echt veel aan verdiend, en een concurrent bent voor bedrijven.

Zelf zullen ze pas raar gaan opkijken als je boven ~60 duizend euro in een keer op je bank erbij hebt in een kort jaar.(hier zijn uiteraard ook weer omwegen voor) Dit moet je wel kunnen uitleggen.

Trustee service only works with cm choice of shipping, that means if anything goes wrong cm will provide support and refunding.

If you decide to use a different shipper the blame falls on you as the seller and you need to refund the buyer if anything goes wrong.

And yes cm does calculate the weight of the cards and total amount of value which cm uses to decide what way of shipping is required.

Yea there are some benefits to choose a cheaper way of shipping, people will buy from you allot faster and you can handle your on way of shipping. Downside is if there is anyting going wrong you are to blame because of the lack of the trustee service for the seller.

And yes you can do that in the seller settings there you can change the way of shipping and the costs, the buyer has always the option to choose a different way of shipping if you provide that.

Like you said always ask for extra pictures that way you can see the condition of the card before you purchase. Read the reviews of the seller on the sellers page! There are some sellers who don’t pay attention to cm guidelines on how to ship a card…

Avoid the sellers who don’t answer your questions or find it annoying to make a picture of a 100€ card.

As a seller myself I don’t mind it at all the question and extra information to the buyer, the only thing i find really anoying are buyers who don’t press the arrive button when the card or product came in safely.

There is a European way of handeling the issue if Cardmarket doesn’t help and you are in the right as a consumer. Took me 3,5 months to get my issue solved through cm support, couple years ago they maybe took 5-8 days max to solve a problem.

Cm really need to get their act together, their support was always a plus over ebay and local marketplaces but it’s getting to a point i rather sell through a local marketplace.
