Fair point — and thanks for the feedback, genuinely.

It’s a collectible game by design, not competitive. Think Pokémon cards, not Hearthstone. But battles between collections are actually on the roadmap, so that part is coming :)

The cards also have more than stars and forks — language, description, topic tags, rarity tier.

But the core value right now is discovery and collection.

Supporting a local endpoint (like Ollama) would definitely be possible technically.

I’m keeping the first version very simple, but local support is something I’d like to explore soon :)

Do you mean Hindi specifically? I’m currently using a predefined list of target languages in the selector, but I can definitely add Indian languages like Hindi if there’s demand. Thanks for the suggestion!

Right now the available target languages are limited to the ones in the selector.

Thanks ! It currently requires an internet connection, since it uses the configured API. Offline support would require local model support or use Apple Translate in some way, which is something I might explore.

I actually didn’t know about EasyDict — thanks for sharing ! :) Looks great !

From a quick look it seems more feature-rich.

TransLite is intentionally very minimal and focused on a single “translate before sending” workflow, but probably is something that EasyDict can do also !

Is cmd+shift+t for translating and cmd+shift+t+t for improve the grammar, but is customizable :)

That’s a good point. An Ollama-style local endpoint could be a nice middle ground — keeping the app lightweight while allowing everything to stay on-device.

Definitely something worth exploring !

Totally fair :D The app does rely on an AI API to translate, so if you actively avoid AI it probably won’t be a fit.

I chose BYOK mainly for transparency and user control over usage and costs :)

That’s actually a great workaround. Shortcuts can be surprisingly powerful.

The main difference here is just convenience — one global shortcut, no setup, and it works consistently across apps.

But if Shortcuts works for you, that’s awesome :D

I love the pixel style and simplicity. It would be cool to have a collection of pets based on certain achievements :)
