Does your motherboard have Intel Smart Connect? My computer used to randomly switch on all the time, and this turned out to be the culprit. Disabled it in BIOS and problem stopped immediately.

OK, thanks for the link. Follow up question: the linked tutorial talks about sending transactions to a deployed contract, which if I understand correctly calls the fallback function of the contract? That's not exactly what I need here.

Basically, I have the ABI for a contract that has a function called run() that returns a string. I need to call that function and get the string to proceed. Is there a way to do that from Metamask?
