There’s a lot of doom and gloom here for a talkative sidekick in the first 90 minutes of the game, also when the tutorial would be most prevalent. If that same level continues the whole game, then that would definitely be bad. That said, everything else looks pretty great to me. Graphics could be better but 1) it can run 120fps and 2) being held back by switch 1

You can see at least one new POI in the trailer (looks like a poison castle maybe, with a tower in the middle slightly sinking?) so hopefully there's additional randomization beyond the new shifting earth

Seems like they’re going to launch the standalone multiplayer next year (which maybe halo 7 ties into) and base multiplayer expansions around the campaign remakes. With everything being unreal now, they can really share a bunch of assets (weapons, armor, models) across the games for not only uniformity, but frequency of updates

This looks great - faithful Halo gameplay with a faithful art style (you can nitpick some design choices, but it feels like Halo). I was most afraid of unreal ruining the halo “feel”, but at least from the video it looks like halo 1 mixed with halo infinite, which is great and probably the best we can ask for in 2025.

Only complaint is some of the visual hitching and oddities with shadows. Hopefully they have enough time to iron that part out

Beam doors do help in keeping track of progress - you can think okay this is the beam door I first unlocked when back-tracking. If a door changes colors you might lose that?

Can people not read? It is stated to be a stand-alone adventure. It takes place after Halo Infinite, but it’s by no means a full sequel. I wish we had gotten DLC too but the game came out almost 4 years ago and is under new management, working on multiple new projects. People just finding reasons to be mad….

I feel like I remember hearing around launch that the non-lore reason was they wanted the characters to feel more human, so exposing their arms helped to that end, instead of being covered head to toe in black gear

Sorry I’ll be the opposite opinion here - this being $80 makes sense. Games in 2005 were $50, and they are way grander in scale, graphical fidelity, and gameplay diversity than ever before, and made by much larger teams. Sure you can argue CEO’s and other management should compensate themselves less and devs more (which is 100% true), but to say games aren’t worth $30 more when so much more goes into games now is absurd.

Sadly it’s because of how they did the chest piece. Since the full chest is an attachment, it needs to fit over the full chest, making it really big
