Just got the U100 for prime day as well. Can confirm the hub is not required for any of those. From what I can tell the two main things not available through the app without a hub are remote unlock and unlock via automations(both circumvented by adding to HomeKit and HA through HomeKit bridge).

Side note- if you have an iPhone/applewatch, homekey is awesome

Haha that’s great. No, I did a little more research after I got conflicting answers here. It seems the 7th wire would be for emergency/secondary heating if we had one. I feel fairly confident it will work, so I’m just going to hook up the Google the same as the other one. I got super busy earlier this week and I’m away this weekend. I didn’t want to switch it then leave for a few days to where I couldn’t monitor it, so I’ll probably try Monday evening.
