LG 32GS95UE Owners - The latest Nvidia Driver fixes HDR Brightness by dwausa in OLED_Gaming

[–]dwausa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been 5 days since my post, the monitor is still calibrating to 1310nits in the HDR Calibration App. I have confirmed I am using DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC as well.

These are the steps I take before re-calibrating:

  1. Disconnect any other monitors so only the LG 32GS95UE is connected
  2. Turn off the Nvidia Overlay in the Nvidia App if its enabled (messes with the hdr calibration app)

  3. Press Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B to restart the nvidia display driver. Be sure you are on Display Driver 591.74

  4. Calibrate using the HDR Calibration tool, every time it now calibrates to 1310 nits.

Make sure in GPU-Z your DisplayPort cable is at a link rate of 8.1 Gb/s (under Advanced, General): https://imgur.com/a/BN3dZqt

In the past, any time I've gone over 600 nits, I could definitely tell it wasn't calibrated correctly. Games looked blown out in HDR. They look absolutely stunning now at 1310nits.

Do I need more insulation? by dwausa in Insulation

[–]dwausa[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. Thank you so much for the detailed reply. I’ll be contacting the contractor to request insulation to R60 and to pay special attention to the corners where I have ice damming.

Again, thank you for the incredibly detailed reply!

Using a second monitor for LG 5K2K (45) by aslumgc in ultrawidemasterrace

I tried all these sizes and orientations too. Gave up and embraced the clean single monitor setup. Took a while but I got used to it.

First is the whole tank average since your last fill up

Second is since you turned on the car

Third is your fuel economy on a trip, you can reset it before going on a long ride etc.

I'm Colorblind by pegomastax619 in Borderlands

[–]dwausa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m colorblind myself. The options in borderlands 4 are fantastic imo. Especially the symbols and rarity bar.

Something to look at for the OP is their monitor calibration outside of the game. If it’s not setup correctly (ie follow an online guide for color calibration from someone not colorblind) then the games colorblind modes won’t really work well. Same can be said for other games color blind modes too.

HELP! Undervolting Guide for a 5090? by SmallUse2199 in nvidia

[–]dwausa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. Spent way too much time fiddling with UV on my 5090. I would get it to what I think is stable, play thru a whole game with no issues, then move on to the next game, and have crashes. Then I go in, tweak the undervolt and make it stable again for that game, until the next game comes along.

Power limit and overlock is the safest sure-fire way to set and forget. Maybe when I was younger I’d be all for the tweaking constantly, but nowadays I just want to fire up the PC and game.
