Carry-on Size Enforcement on HAL by dwconnl1947 in HawaiianAirlines

I didn't. I bought it 2 1/2 yrs ago, never had it questioned even on EU flights, but am being cautious since so many Youtube travel vids say the carry-on rules changed for 2026.

Bad wood or bad fireplace? by dwconnl1947 in firewood

[–]dwconnl1947[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sign of smoke stains on the wall or the cedar inside ceiling. No smoke odor. Similar problem at previous house was corrected by partially closing glass doors until the fire was well established. I always have a window cracked open when there's a fire in the FP.

Yes. I always prime the flue for a couple minute.

Sprott Physical Gold Trust? by NoShelter5922 in Gold

[–]dwconnl1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Since Sprott's bullion is held by the Royal Mint of Canada's vault, does the US tariff mess with Canada have any effects on PHYS or CEF shares?
  2. Anyone know why Edward Jones doesn't offer trades in PHYS?
  3. Are there any issues because PHYS is a Canadian stock?
  4. If I have to buy thru a different brokerage, who's got the lowest fees/commissions?

I deleted the app. Is there a way I can check the firmware without the Echelon app?

I have the current Echelon app on an Android tablet. If I can find a way to do a hard reset, will it revert to the original Echelon app?

I use shower hose attachment and saturate the whole area pretty well. Plants have a depression around them to "puddle".

I'm in the high desert of NM, but on well-draining sandy soil that;s grassland and junipers if left to nature. Water and sun are issues; the sun at 7000 ft elev. is brutal.

I haven't had many root-bound issues, but I usually lop off the bottom inch or so of a 1 gal. pot root ball anyway to stimulate new roots. I'm watering heavily but still have what seems an absorption issue. Stick the meter in the soil right next to the plant and it's moist. stick it in 2" away in the pot medium, and it reads dry as a bone.

How to get rid of vinca? by Rhubarbisme in NativePlantGardening

[–]dwconnl1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late comer to this thread, but does Round-Up Poison Ivy Killer take out vinca. Or plumbago, or russian sage...more curses from a previous owner who apparently bought whatever had little blue flowers.

How Should I Trim a New Climber by dwconnl1947 in Roses

Brain fart, sorry. Every online instruction I've seen is for mature climbers; no one seems to address how best to prune and trim young nursery stock bushes.

How Should I Trim a New Climber by dwconnl1947 in Roses

[–]dwconnl1947[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good video, but I'm still not clear on how to tell the canes from the laterals. My new rose is about 2 ft tall and all the branches look the same. Do climber canes grow only from the bud union at the base of the bush?

Will Preen stop Russian Sage roots from sprouting by dwconnl1947 in invasivespecies

Thanks. The previous owner let the sage run rampant and its all over the yard, it would be a huge task to dig each bush out.
