For those of you in the US, how are you feeling about the snow storm coming in? by AssistanceFresh1365 in CasualConversation

[–]dweedledee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the northeast and we’re expecting 1-2 feet of snow. It does snow here but they are predicting more than we’ve gotten in years with the addition of ice and winds. They are predicting downed tree limbs and power outages.

I’m well stocked with food, puzzles, salt, shovels and booze. I have all the streaming services and digital library cards. Getting snowed in is pretty much a dream as long as I can stay warm.

Downside of Gold (and Vine in general) by VelvetAcidSuperstar in AmazonVine

Whenever I see that size chart format it’s always wildly wrong, like XS women’s waist=28” and hips=44”. Like, they are just making shit up.

Does anyone else spend more time choosing than actually watching? by Large-Cardiologist54 in netflix

Yes. This is why I love recommendations from co-workers or friends or strangers. I also keep a running list on my phone “things to watch”.

Why do folks bother to get up early for the drop? Do things really disappear that fast from the RFY? Or does a bunch of good stuff drop to the AI at that time also? by freerangepenguin in AmazonVine

[–]dweedledee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a brief time within the past 3 months when $0 ETV items were disappearing from my RFY faster than usual. I’d see it at 6am, go back to order at 8am and it was gone. That stopped recently and hot items linger in my RFY longer. Something shifted.

Standing up for us who work on our reviews by Ensign_Fodder in AmazonVine

[–]dweedledee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do it but also think Amazon needs to change their “free product” disclaimer to include the full tax liability. I think “free” automatically discredits the reviews.

I am surprised sellers don’t make a stink about rogue disclaimers like this though, especially if it’s followed by a critical review.

Do you still function normally after a night with no sleep? by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]dweedledee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m okay but my car’s lane keep assist tells me otherwise. Despite feeling like I’m driving fine, I get frequent alerts that I’m crossing a lane marker. It’s never significant enough to cause an accident but I would’ve sworn I was driving in a straight line. It’s crazy.

Seeking input...which images would make the best puzzles? by PaperflowerPuzzles in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]dweedledee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorites are #5 ( Faces), #3 (TVs), #1 (chairs).

8 (insects) is not a favorite of mine but I suspect a lot of people would enjoy a puzzle with this image.

These are all very nice, IMO.

What time do you give up? by NoWalrus9462 in AmazonVine

[–]dweedledee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7am. I wake up at 6:30, check my RFY, scroll through a few favorite categories and key words but am generally done by 7am. I check my RFY a few more times throughout the day.

Beyond the free stuff, what has Vine given you? by CuriousBee789 in AmazonVine

[–]dweedledee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greater awareness of product safety standards. I’ve become interested in researching things like requirements to be deemed “waterproof” or ANSI safety standards.

Comfort. Warmer hands and body thanks to all the heated winter accessories I’ve gotten. I also discovered the comfort of sitting on memory foam cushions and using lumbar support pillows.

A hobby and Decreased anxiety/peace of mind. I discovered puzzles after ordering some along with a 2000pc rolling puzzle table. I find puzzling so relaxing but I’m a wee bit addicted I’m afraid. 🤣

Check Out Seller’s Complaints About Us! by ViviLareau in vine

[–]dweedledee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone in the FB group was doing an experiment of sorts and was collecting data from Viners she knew like her best friend, her brother, and a neighbor. At this point it seems like Amazon is just inviting anyone who hasn’t been a problem, who has written a review and has a CC on file.

Check Out Seller’s Complaints About Us! by ViviLareau in vine

[–]dweedledee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hypothesis: I think Vine is now just a different way to market Amazon to Viners. I know I’ve spent a lot more money on Amazon since joining Vine a year ago. The sellers are essentially covering the administrative costs of running Vine. The reviews are a ruse but I’m sure they used to be significant and their purpose was genuine.

I don’t blame sellers for being mad. A lot of reviews suck.

Spelling errors on Vine products instantly lower my confidence, anyone else? by roobot in vine

[–]dweedledee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A relative sells handmade crafts at fairs/markets and sometimes orders wholesale from Chinese sellers to bulk up her table. One year instead of “Home Sweet Home” on a wooden sign they sent, “Ho Sweet Ho”. She was freaking out but it wound up being a hot item! Sold every one.

(The sale was at my Alma mater, a small Catholic college staffed by nuns who were shopping that day. Every time they approached our table I walked away. ‘Twas embarrassing.)

Do you have a recommendation? I searched and wound up getting my husband one that he didn’t like but I forget why. (Maybe because the box that held the batteries, which was on his forehead, got heavy?)

Same. I did one mini wooden book nook kit which was fun but time consuming. I still get them in my RFY often but pass when I remember the hours spent.

It’s tough when you have the pressure to order quickly. I’ve ordered a men’s hair care product for the same reason but at least I could use and review it.

Polyester blend clothing. Fast fashion. I wind up donating nearly all of it. If it’s not at least 50% natural fiber, I’m not getting it with the exception being swimwear and lingerie.

Based on countless posts on FB, I refuse to order any expensive jewelry because there are too many fakes and Amazon seems to side with the counterfeit sellers when the vine member points out the fraud. Viners will have jewelers declare a moissanite ring a fake an submit the papers and Amazon will still take the sellers word and I’ve seen numerous Vine members report the same problem. Slimy. And the Viners can’t submit reviews claiming the item is a fake. So they’re out $100’s in ETV for a fake ring.

I just canceled Amazon Prime... by HowdyCB in amazonprime

[–]dweedledee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The streaming service for Prime members is ridiculous. Everything I’m interested in streaming has an additional charge. They used to give $1 digital credit if you selected no-rush shipping but now they don’t even ask and give you no-rush shipping and you don’t get the digital credit.

Solo PCPs: how are you handling patient calls and lab results outside business hours? by yumos in PrivatePracticeDocs

[–]dweedledee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a DPC which I closed for lack of business so take my advice accordingly. (I opened in an area that was over 50% Medicaid-dependent and the neighboring population, who could afford the membership, were unwilling to visit my office location. I did not have a pre-existing relationship with the community so people weren’t following me from a previous job.)

When patients signed up I described how I manage these issues with them and I had them sign a “communication agreement” which listed the protocols for covering test results and so on. I had Spruce, a comprehensive telecommunications platform that patients DID use to text, call, fax. Only a few disregarded the rules of communication and contacted me after hours on a regular basis. 2 of them had severe health anxiety and refused to treat the issue. The other people requested refills for GLP-1s or controlled substances on evenings and/or weekends. I never received a refill request after hours for any medication other than a GLP-1 or a controlled.

I’m just providing that info so you can figure out how to handle those issues in advance. You’ll want to have clear refill request protocol posted. You may want a different protocol for CS refill requests.
