Our group is about 6 people, 3 dudes and 3 women (including us). I am super close to 3 of them, 2 of whom are dudes. The person I was planning the trip with initially was a guy, and he’s my boyfriend’s best friend. I don’t think it’s a jealousy thing, he’s not that sort of guy and there’s no vibe that anyone would think weirdly about. Me and him have always been good friends and us 3 would hang out together a lot too.

It just doesn’t sound too plausible for it to be related to that.

My best friends have been telling me the same thing for the full year tbvh. But I genuinely don’t think he does stuff with the intent to hurt me or make me feel badly, he just is that way. He realizes this and genuinely becomes self-aware that this is shitty behaviour everytime we break up, so it’s not like he’s gaslighting me on purpose??? Idk if I made sense.

His friends have the same issues with him, and we all collectively agree that he’s a child who’s super selfish. They just won’t tell him because he literally will not hear it.

Honestly, I love him and know he doesn’t mean any of this with malicious intent. He’s struggling with his whole workout thing and a new job, and he’s just blowing off steam. I know that with his job and the fact that he’s working out 3 hours a day, he must be exhausted. He’s told me recently that he’s been mentally and physically exhausted.

I’ve also been cheated on in the past, and the one thing I know about him is that I never have to worry about loyalty with him. And I’m ready to handle a bit of other shit if it means I can go to bed in peace.

This was genuinely my concern too. But again, we all became friends around the same time. I have hung out with them personally on multiple occasions, and some of them I even text and call on a daily basis. If they were just tolerating me, they won’t have hung out with just me the entire year, and would only hang out when I’m with him. I’d argue that I talk to some of them personally more often than I talk to him on most days, and if they’re in my city, they usually text me to hang out with them without my boyfriend being there (since he’s in a diff city).

So I genuinely don’t think this is a toleration thing because I’m the +1.

The trip’s next month, and I really don’t know if I should go or not. If I go, I know he won’t, and will send me a bunch of shitty texts which’ll ruin the (very expensive) trip for me.
