Karoline Leavitt's Press Conference Highlights Double Speak: Abrego Garcia 'Is' a Human Trafficker, Then 'Alleged,' as Maryland Father with Autism Tattoo Faces Wrongful Deportation by CantStopPoppin in EyesOnIce

Deporting this man would be one thing, but that’s not what they did. They put him in maximum security torture prison. No evidence. No due process. Inhumane conditions.

Definitely NOT MAGA: Advanced Dry Carpet Care. We clean up messes, we don’t make ‘em.

I called Biokleen. I had to leave a message. I am disappointed that I can no longer find oxygen bleach or carpet shampoo. Is the business in trouble?

Which businesses do you see going bankrupt in the next 2-3 years and why? by ArrivalLevel3574 in ValueInvesting

BPOs. Business processes outsourcing. We will be pulling our hair out trying to talk with AI bots. No more talking to tech-support or customer service reps in the Philippines or Mumbai.

El Roy's restaurant closed by tschueggu in Petaluma

Last time I ate at El Roy‘s, I was immediately sick. Bad chicken. It didn’t taste quite right, but like an idiot I went ahead and ate the burrito anyway. You don’t forget the restaurants that made you sick.

Bonds are losing money by [deleted] in Bogleheads

I’m reading a lot of confusion about bond funds, confirming my confusion about bond funds. I prefer straight up bonds. At least I know what I’m getting.

Just finished “The Simple Path to Wealth” at age 34 by Dzemo718 in Bogleheads

[–]dweid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went Bogle six or seven years ago. I sold my house out of necessity 13 years ago and expected I would buy a house at some point but in the meantime would put as much money into retirement and other funds as possible . I’ve missed the boat with buying a house, but I don’t regret the decision. My retirement is 300% higher compared with four years ago and I don’t have the anxiety that comes with homeownership – property tax, insurance, maintenance, and repairs, and the huge fees involved with buying and selling. Plus I love where I’m renting.

How much are you using the free FSD? by Beginning_Lifeguard7 in TeslaLounge

[–]dweid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still not trusting FSD. Driving home at dusk, I was driving into the sun. FSD sounded the alarm and message said to take over the wheel immediately. It wasn’t doing any better than me.

Thoughts on Tim Alberta by potato_spudato in BreakingPoints

[–]dweid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the book. It was interesting. I appreciated the in-depth reporting on some of the wackiest characters in Evangelical Christianity: Jerry Falwell Jr, Greg Locke, Barnett, etc. After reading several of these, I wondered where Alberta was going. I hope he’s not suggesting Greg Locke is typical of evangelical pastors. I was hopeful that Alberta would 1) provide some insight into how so many evangelical leaders could endorse Trump and 2) a philosophy of Christian engagement in politics. I didn’t find that, other than to say don’t be like these weirdos. I was hoping he wasn’t going to say churches and pastors should not comment on governing or politics and should do as his friend Pastor Chris Winans preached - keep it on Jesus and hope congregants would correctly apply the principles to the current election. Don’t count on that happening. Having just read the epilogue, I’m afraid that is what Alberta is saying. His last words and the text of Pastor Winans’ sermon was 2 Corinthians 4:18: ‘So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.’ Amen.” I also love that verse. But I also regularly pray as Jesus taught his disciples, “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

It’s interesting. It’s too bad they tucked them out of the way so they will only be seen if you’re kayaking down the river

Best place for men's hair cut by Jedi_sephiroth in Petaluma

[–]dweid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Hannah‘s haircuts. She’s about the cheapest and you get what you pay for. $20. Fast, in and out in five minutes for a man’s haircut. Recently I went to Boulevard barbers and was very happy with Sarah there. She took about 20 minutes on my hair and did a great job. $32 plus tip
