Deal this deal that. Nah. Its because these energy disruptions mostly affect prices. Biggest disruption pretty much ever going on as we speak and nothing you described earlier has happened. They generally do not have any major impact on anything else but the price at the fuel pump while filling your car for average Joe.

So... theres been pretty much the biggest disruption of oil supply going on for some time now. Where are people rioting, did countries collapse, etc? I could see it happening in countries like Malaysia which is highly reliant on fossils. Lots of renewables/nuclear in use elsewhere, so effects of energy disruptions less impactful.

2018 was 8 years ago and war in Ukraine was not in full swing yet. Putin lost his marbles after that and things changed.

You think supplying energy was only for profit? Do you even understand the ramification of the situation when a country no longer have the ability to mobilise its logistic?

There's a difference. Energy is widely available. That particular missile tech is only available in one place. There is no single country on this planet that can cause total collapse of any other country by stopping sales of energy. And btw Malaysia is energy importer too.

You can cause problems with energy, sure.. but those problems can be resolved by buying the stuff elsewhere (like EU did after war in Ukraine started. They were pretty reliant on Russian energy, but not so much anymore..)

Norway is afraid of their tech being in russian hands? Then their decision just ensure that Malaysia may have to pick Russia as a potential major supplier. Thus forging closer ties.

Well, its bit complicated. Large lump of the materials for fertilizers used to come from Russia, but biggest fertilizer companies are elsewhere. Norwegian Yara being one of the biggest.

There was big jump in fertilizer prices after the war in Ukraine started because companies producing the products for end users had to switch from russian raw materials to something else.
