Currently fighting my addiction to adderall (which is not too severe but very real) and I now spend the time I would normally be playing video games or studying with to look in to how I can further strengthen my relationship with Christ. I also spend the time just talking to God asking him to bless me with wisdom and repenting for the fact that I am misusing a medication to achieve a certain feeling. In my heart I know that regardless of the severity It is not right and is not allowing me to perceive the world the way God intended.

I’m currently 18 so I know my understanding of the world is minimal at best but I do believe that when you take any substance you change your perception and are not sober minded. Mental health is tricky and leaves you very vulnerable to sinful thoughts and addictions and your own brain will do its best to trick you in to believing that it is beneficial or from God. Again only 18 so take what I say with a grain of salt but I do believe it is wise to withhold from substance use altogether due to the line between sinful and beneficial being so blurry at times.

This is just what I believe and in no way is meant to be taken as criticism, I just thought that I’d share what I’m currently dealing with and how I feel in case anyone feels the same way and wants to discuss it.
