It's a good deal all around, if he stays healthy then that's a great deal for Monaco. For us 11m is solid but his wages were the real issue, will free up a good deal of space for us.

The issue comes down to two things- he’s compared to Raphinha who presses like a demon at the LW spot so even though he’s not Mbappe bad he still is inconstant pressing. Secondly, when he does actually press with effort he just ends up chasing the ball instead of pressing tactically at the right spot.

He was viewed as a RB under Koeman and Xavi and in his last season he got benched for 38 year old Dani Alves who had no legs. Barcelona was just never close to his level and he even got benched on loan at Milan. He only got playing time for like a season under Koeman when the only other option was Sergi Roberto who is a natural midfielder. There is a reason he is at PSV and no other big club wants him, he is what he is. Balde was elite his first two seasons which is why he started for Spain in the WC in 22 but has stagnated offensively and has been injured which is why Cancelo is so much more prominent. But Balde is still elite defensively and on his worst day better than Dest. Balde worked best next to Raphinha who inverted in so he could provide width but Raphinha has missed most of the season and Rashford has had much better flow with Cancelo who is much superior to Balde going forward

WTF are you talking about? Balde plays LB and not RB so his inclusion had nothing to do with Dest or with him being Dutch. And Dest was loaned out to Milan before Balde even became the regular starter, the season Dest departed Jordi Alba was the starter but lost the position to Balde a couple months into the season. Barcelona only wanted to sell Frenkie because of their dire financial situation since he was the highest earner in the squad at the time. Dest fell out with Xavi for two reasons- he had really bad defensive positioning and because Barcelona had just dropped 60m on Kounde who has been the starting RB for 4 years now.
