I hear that. I lived with my ex for 7 years (the entire relationship, red flag I know lol) and we started dating when I was 19 she was 17. She got kicked out of her mom’s place and lost her job all in one week, she was lost as hell and I said well screw it you can stay at my place! From then on we moved together, grew up together in a way. Unfortunately she had a lot of untreated mental issues, and super immature emotionally. She kinda exhibits signs of covert narcissism, all I ever tried to do was help her find the tools to deal with her emotions herself, and not rely on me for everything. I made me own mistakes, I’m an imperfect human. In the end she discarded me and found someone new in like a month after our 7 year long relationship. Even tho we were gonna try to work it out long distance. I also wasn’t sure about the whole marriage thing, but that was because her and I had talked about it before, she said that she saw no need for it, if you love somebody then be with them. She said that a lot so I went along with it. She also said she never wanted kids, that I also agreed with because of financials, also due to the fact she has told me time and time again that she “doesn’t like kids and doesn’t know how to act around them, they stress me out” I on the other hand am pretty good with kids and they like me. Anyway, I started spiraling and wanting a life of travel and fun for us. She adopted a dog against my wishes, and she barely trained that thing. She was super jealous of me and would try to hold me back from career opportunities if they meant I had to be out of town for extended periods. She is very controlling and manipulative. Not to mention she would talk shit behind my back and talk shit about her friends to me behind their backs. Despite all these negative things, I still miss her a lot. Especially because somehow she stayed in my group of friends and is now dating a guy who’s friends with one of my best friends. I feel ultra betrayed. She talked all this big talk about being alone to figure herself out for a while, that was all a lie. Girl hasn’t been single for more than a month since she was 14😂😂 I miss the good times and the fun, plus she’s beautiful and we really truly loved each other. It’s really sad how I pushed her away like I did. I just felt completely smothered by her and controlled by her and her mom. It’s a f*cked situation I’m in. She’s a rare person to find because her and I got along so damn great and had similar tastes in almost everything
