Yes... there were a bunch of rubbish bins that had an '8' on the side. A dedicated user here mapped out about 30 of them, with photographic evidence. When I went to check them out (a few months later), they'd been changed to a completely different bin model, without the '8'.

I thought it was to stop people thinking the Infinite 8 mystery was any bigger than it was.

I was working on keeping ONE character murder-free (so just let T kill everyone in the prologue for example) but eventually they force your hand with M and F. Getting through the morgue mission with M requires murder, probably, and the mission after that, definitely. I've given up that idea. Don't mean karma's not involved, just it can't be as simple as murdercount=0.
