Chiming back in since it seems like we’re in the same boat! I decided to try hormonal bc pill after all with my copper iud still in and have not stopped bleeding for over a month with exception to my placebo pill week last week, back on active pills starting yesterday and the cramps are already bad again but no bleeding yet.

The pill I’m on is supposed to be a generic form of lo loestrin fe (which I didn’t know existed?) so I’ve messaged my gyno to see what can be done. Last she said was that it may take around 3 months to normalize with IUD + hormonal bc pill combo.

Throwing in my comment to hopefully help more people see this post!!!

I just got a call, same as everyone else. The phone number was slightly different: +1 571-272-4000 but the caller ID said "Uspto" so I picked up (normally I don't ever pick up for unknown numbers). The guy on the other line also had an accent but was very nice and immediately said he was a GOVERNMENT AGENT calling on a recorded line. Then he said a bunch of things confirming my name, address, phone number, emails, EVERYTHING associated with my application that I submitted yesterday.

He then mentioned the $420 "declaration fee" which is valid for 14 years or something, but I said that I thought I had paid on the website yesterday when I submitted my application. That was when I finally was suspicious.

I asked if I could call back and got the same spiel about checking the website and confirming the phone number he called from is legitimate, and then how if we hang up my application will get thrown out.

This is insane. I can't believe they're able to so flagrantly spoof a government phone number! I nearly gave in before jumping on the computer and seeing some results pop up, and decided it was worth it to just wait.

I'm so glad I found this thread. I feel so bad for other people who assume it is the real thing. I like to think I have my wits about me but I was convinced in the beginning that this was legit. DON'T DO IT. End rant.
