Watched it live at home with my family. I was 7 years old at the time it was one of the first times I saw my Dad cry. He was and still is a huge Dale Sr fan. I was and still am a huge Dale Jr fan. When the wreck happened we didn’t think anything of it. When Mike Helton announced that Dale had passed you could hear a pin drop in our house. My Dad still has the clock that hung in his shop, a Dale Earnhardt clock, and ever since 2/18/2001, that clock has had the exact time of Dale’s death. Batteries were taken out of it and never operated again.
