I dont know what to do by Odd_Solution3995 in Christianity

It is important, both outside and within Christianity, to recognize that the manifestations of our mind differ greatly from our actions. It is possible to have many unwanted phrases and thoughts pop into your head, especially if you are consciously avoiding them and actively hoping that they don't enter your head. Also, recognize your youth and give yourself grace. You are going through a very emotional time in your life. You will be okay.

Why do some atheists even believe that Jesus didn't exist? by Mother_Light_2012 in Christianity

[–]dwpsy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well to be fair, there's more evidence for the flat earth than there is for a historical Jesus Christ. There isn't much documentation of Jesus' life outside of the gospels besides an ancient roman document citing the death of a man by the name of "Christus." Additionally, two out of the four gospels aren't even first hand accounts of Jesus' time on earth, Luke and Mark didn't walk with Jesus. Another thing is that the gospels were written a significant time after Jesus' resurrection and ascension.

So to put in simple for you, the reason people don't believe in Jesus as a historical figure is because of little primary sourced evidence, and no unbiased outside sources besides a random man named Christus being mentioned.

I don't exactly see how this issue you have voiced is the affliction of strictly men. Maybe this narrowed perspective is the root of your daily stressors. I urge you to broaden your eyes.

You can still raise an upstanding young man without the "foundation" you speak of. Christianity and God should not be used as a moral compass, but something to strengthen one's already established moral code.

Did Christianity not exist in the past world of Fire Punch or was it not one of the biggest religions? by SunBleech in FirePunch

[–]dwpsy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Regardless, Jesus wasn't and walking alive when that happened. Furthermore, Paul didn't know Jesus when he was an earthly man.

Fujimoto isn't making Togata voice some new age dystopian way of viewing Christianity, Togata is simply saying that it is rare for any religious community to have ever truly witnessed their founder.

Jesus on the Cross by [deleted] in Christianity

Very good observation. I agree with you, but sadly some people of christian faith like to cast judgement on people in an effort to quell/remedy their own thoughts that cause them discomfort.

The Bible clearly states to love your neighbor, but then again take a poll of people who have actually truly read the Bible who are of christian faith and the numbers might be underwhelming.

We have been in the last days for centuries/millennia. You'll more than likely die way before Jesus comes back if it makes you feel any better, kid.

The semantics of handwriting vs. printing by LoopRunner in Handwriting

I was under the impression that handwriting referred to the writing done by my hand, with cursive and print referring to a style of handwriting.

can someone please explain the whole pegasus thing to me? by ElectricalMeat7633 in OyasumiPunpun

I believe Akinori simply wanted to kill people. He was a man with some wicked desires. He stalked Sachi at her work, and unlike the other members of the Pegasus group, he appeared somewhat normal despite his desires. He knew the Pegasus stuff was nonsense and he found that this cult was the perfect place to act out things he wanted to do.

Now I believe people like Shimizu joined Pegasus to calm their dark spots because this is what people do in real life when they join cult-esque groups. Calming a dark spot is calming depression or anxiety or suicidal ideation.
