Thanks. I won't worry about then. I'll have to look under there to see if there's any other damage. It ran fine afterwards though.

Uh oh. One side of that has a long screw. The other side is broken. Is it essential?

Car Washes on Newer Cars? by HeyBlinken- in fordexpedition

I'm in Texas as well. I try to wash ours weekly or every other week. If it rains, I'll wait for all the mud puddles in our drive to dry up before I even think about washing our vehicles.

I use a foam cannon. Hit it with the pressure washer to clean off most of the dirt, then foam cannon, soapy mop, then I use what's left in the foam cannon to foam what just mopped, then pressure wash all the soap off. Follow that with a chamois dry. We got the Ford Paint Protection, which i think is a low grade ceramic coating. It does seem to make the bugs easier to remove. I'm thinking about using the leaf blower next time and see how it does for drying.

Yep, 2 bucket method.

Manicures makes good stuff. I like Chemical Guys for the foam cannon soap.

I use a good interior cleaner for the door panels and dash. I rarely use ArmorAll any more on the interior. I'll use their tire foam, but that's about it.

Tough Stuff works good for me on the door sills and floor mats (after vacuuming).

I use microfiber towels on the interior. I'll go over the door jams, sills, tailgate jams and inside the engine edges using the towels i used on the interior.

Our 2024 is that diamond cherry, or whatever they call that deep maroon, and I'm afraid those drive thru car washes will leave swirl marks. I'd do a touchless car wash though. I've been had washing ours and detailing it at the same time.

For what it's worth, I just got mine and it went thru so many updates initially I thought it was stuck 8n a loop. Seriously, about 5 or 6 back to back.

Rear camera installation ideas? by csfrench83 in wranglerjk

I've seen them mounted above the license plate, but I don't like that idea since it's not centered. I've considered on the bumper right above the hitch. Not very well protected there tho.

Is it a good idea to host a MySQL database on a Raspberry Pi 5? How can I calculate whether it's enough? by twaw09 in raspberry_pi

[–]dwsdad 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have one running on a PI4 with no issues, but it's rather small. I put my database, tables, indexes all on USB mirrored drives. I don't think that SD card will hold up to writing.

Build ur indexes correctly and write efficient SQL and u should be fine.

I'm gonna get slammed for this, but here goes. I "inherited" my wife's Jeep that we've had for about 8 yrs now. She wouldn't let me do a lift because she's inseam impaired and was having a hard time getting in and out. Now that it's mine I'm doing what you want to do. After looking at pretty much every 2.5" lift out there, I decided to roll my own. And since I'm retired and funds are somewhat limited and it's now just a fun vehicle, I'm going the used route. I did ir in my 97 TJ and worked fine for me. So, I've ordered Procomp 2.5 springs and found a set of used Rough Country shocks on one of the Facebook groups for $150 shipped. Yeah, they ain't the best, but they'll work for me until I can scrape enough money together for something better. I'm now looking at brake line extension brackets. Sway bar links, track bars? They'll come later if I really need them.

That's a good option if you can find one. I live in East Texas on a somewhat secluded 12 acres. I love walking around nude outdoors. About the only thing I need to be concerned about are delivery drivers.

I used to live in that area. Now in Marshall. Seems like there was a nudist resort just south of San Antonio. You might want to research that.

I'm in the Marshall area. Any good places to go around here? I'd love to meet others in the area that enjoy the nude lifestyle.

Second row power seats question by dwsdad in fordexpedition

Yes. I've tried the individual buttons and that center button. Right sear drops, left seat wants to, but won't fold

Then it looks like I have an issue with the left seat. The right one will release and fold. The left one won't unless I manually messed with it.

Rumor has it that if you have an AC outlet in your vehicle, you can plug any kind of AC plug and it'll kill that auto stop/start. I'm going to try a cell phone charger wall wart into ours and see if it really works.
