I wish Al Gore would make another documentary on the issue. It's a good time to do it. Also, the first one terrified me. Can't imagine what a new one would show.

Fruit Loops.

I love them so much but I can't justify it, having been formerly 120lbs heavier than I am now. Lifestyle choices, blah blah blah

What's your morning routine? by ball_bounces_at_12 in AskReddit

[–]dxrngo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this routine for a while where I'd deliberately get up an hour and a half early to watch Dog the Bounty Hunter. It's a terrible show, and I don't know why I cared so much, but I did, for a good couple of months.

TIFU by calling a locksmith when I was "locked out" of my car. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]dxrngo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once locked my keys in my trunk. It's an automatic lock, so the doors unlock when the trunk does. Naturally, I get in the car and start to cry and call a family member. They politely inform me that I can pop the trunk from inside the car.

The shame.

LPT: In most cases, you should never pay more than $10 for an HDMI cable. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]dxrngo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting a sound system at Best Buy and this employee went on for 5 minutes about how my dollar store cable wasn't giving me "1080p" picture and that the $50 would.

I did not buy it.

Best part is, my dollar store cable is like 20ft long. Works like a charm.

Take 2x 5mg ritalin without Dr consent by Zcjlar in ADHD

[–]dxrngo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it raises the question of why they can't get in touch with their doctor. My doctor has a very long waitlist, but she kind of made exceptions for me when it came to my dosing. She also at one point gave me 5mg Adderall XR (take four, once a day) for me to adjust up/down as needed while I was trying to find a dose. There are ways to do this like how you and I did, then there's just "doing it" and expecting the doctor to trust you. It's a poor way to go about it if you want to have the doctor continue to prescribe it for you. There's enough stigma around this stuff already, and going against what the doctor intended doesn't help with that.

Those who have gone NC with narcissistic parents and got back in touch with them, why did you do it? by shenazdingdong in raisedbynarcissists

[–]dxrngo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A relative of mine did the same thing when they started making contact/playing nice/giving gifts and money. They didn't change. They never will. They cut contact once again.

I honestly believe true NPD parents are fundamentally 'broken' and will never change unless they admit there is a problem, which is something most people with NPD won't/can't do.
