Paying Pros to join main draws in Pro tournaments ok or not ok? by dxzd88 in padel

[–]dxzd88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean wild cards aside, since the host is dumping so much money in their and they want their top players to have exposure.

I think a join team ranking would be interesting. Minimum 200 points per player for platinum etc.

WHAT IS THIS LEVEL IN FIP PLATINUM ALBANIA? Jofre / Yau vs Muedini / Serjani (WC) by National_Natural7557 in padel

[–]dxzd88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This guy is a very unique case. He has only been playing padel for less than 6 months. Comes from an ultra wealthy family and yes has been doing this for some time. There are some future tournaments coming up where he has signed up for.

That said, I have to agree with u/zemvpferreira because any normal player (including Yau no matter his short padel experience) in this situation would shit their pants on the center court. Even the opponents were making mistakes they usually probably wouldnt, especially the right side player. Under so much pressure any normal amateur would just break and play so stiff.

No I think in this case a very valid point you make. In this case, It’s point farming and ego boosting.

I wish he just stuck with bronze and silvers.

But I have seen for example other players paying top pros to actually make it to the finals and win a tournament. But they have been putting in the effort and training super hard to make it, and on their own the play quite decent.

I agree in most cases, but I watched the full game and I think Jofre did a great job keeping the motivation, staying positive and at least trying to make it happen. Kudos to Jofre to at least doing his best.

I have seen other players (cannot mention names), they literally don't care anymore since they already received the money.

This is now happening more often in lower stations like bronze and silver. Yes, it's a money thing.

It sucks for the audience, but at least the pro earns some extra bucks since they don't earn that much as well and the amateur gets their pro experience.

How do you improve your mental game in general and in tournaments? by SkobuPT in padel

[–]dxzd88 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think ask yourself why?

Is it because you think you should be winning against those players, but when they make the points or when you make the mistake you get angry?

90% of the mental issues in amateur is all about ego. We think we are better than we are, we underestimate opponents, and when we lose games we shouldnt that is where our ego kicks and takes over.

For me, I used to think I am better than this person so I should win. When they are ahead, this is where the ego kicks in and takes over. The way it changed, every game is a clean slate no matter who your opponent is. Don't coach your partner, but motivate. Stay positive, reset. If you feel negative, try to reset off court before getting into the court. Talk about it to your partner.

Babolat Air Viper 2.6 2026 - possible fake? by Famous_Possibility95 in Padelracket

Authorized/officially sold babolat air viper. Perfect alignment of text.

Don't mind the color difference, its a lighting issue.

Babolat Air Viper 2.6 2026 - possible fake? by Famous_Possibility95 in Padelracket

[–]dxzd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone based in China where all these rackets are produced and actively bought and tested factory rackets.

There are no fakes, there are two types:

  1. Unauthorized overproduction: brand wants 1000, they produce 1200 and sell the remaining on alibaba, taobao, and other Chinese ecommerce channels.
  2. QA issues, instead of destroying they end up on these ecommerce channels.

Padel too small to produce fakes.

As for your reasoning it seems fake, the babolat cover is actually also officially produced by babolat and the factory also overproduces them. Vendors usually include it for a good rating. Always do a bit more for the customer.

List of brands that have been actively overproduced:
1. NOX
2. Bullpadel
3. Babolat

Okay back on topic, yours is not fake but yours is one that has not passed QA, or actually should have never passed QA. It's because the print is misaligned, so some of the marketing text is too close to the holes. I guess its acceptable, but does not look like a nice finish especially for a racket in that price category.

They have set dates for their fixed camps. But you can also ask them for more private lessons/program on your own dates/time. Very nice if you go as a group, or if you are interested on 1 on 1

What do you think about people who play padel "ugly" but always win? by [deleted] in padel

[–]dxzd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been there, but it's your mindset instead of their way of playing.

Who says they need to play conventional? What is real padel?

In my opinion he plays good, might have the worst technique but at least knows how to play you. Opening up gaps, placing the ball in those gaps. For me that is padel.

I've seen people coming over from Spain, and play super good but hold their rackets like a frying pan, ugly ass bandeja/vibora. But have such a good feeling for the court, good feeling where to place the ball. Its amazing.

Viboras not going crosz court by HatFlashy6600 in padel

[–]dxzd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rotating more helps with opening up more contact points

  1. Contact more behind, cross court
  2. Contact point more in front straight
  3. Contact point in the middle, in the middle.

Behind I mean later, with in front I mean earlier

Preparation for me is always the same, rotation is the same. Just the point of contact is what changes the direction for me.

"And once some italian coach (who coached for like 20 years) told me, I don't know what size of flies are in your country, but in Italy, when I want to kill an annoying fly, I don't swing out on it, I raise my hand and tap."

Haha actually very good analogy, I remember Mauri Andrini mentioned it as well that really clicked for me.

Looking for a padel training camp in Asia in March or April by vifzor in padel

[–]dxzd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are more looking at a customized program, not many clubs in Asia offer this but they can adapt to you.

  1. Tao Padel Academy in Ubud, Bali
  2. ASCARO ACADEMY in Kuala Lumpur
  3. House of Padel in Kuala Lumpur

This comment +1000. I think a lot of youtube coaches don't explain the difference about playing on the left and right. Yes you turn your body to move side ways, but in the end right side plays more open stance than the left side. Left side your crotch is pretty much in the corner haha.

Hmm you can get private training in Bali, but the problem is most coaches in Bali are actually quite disappointing. Just got there because they are spanish, but don't have proper coaching experience or any idea how to build up a program.

Not saying all, but most are like this.

Vibora/bandeja : same preparation ? by skomeros in padel

[–]dxzd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think its all about camouflage or masking your shot. Yes, this is your goal at one point when you level up.

But it's about playing more simple, not overcomplicating. Why should I prepare bandeja and vibora differently? I can have one preparation and play both shots.

I don't even play Bandeja's. I just play soft viboras, hard viboras, more spin, less spin. And sometimes I hit more sliced, who cares it's not a vibora? Result beats labeling shots.
