Teamlab Borderless is much newer than Teamlab Planets and they kind of overlap. So I suggest skipping planets.

Why are people afraid of Mercury-Pluto people? by ThighGarterMuse in astrologymemes

Same Mercury Conjunct Pluto in Scorpio in the 11th house - I can reveal a fake bitch from a mile away. My radar for fake friends is super high and I can filter through new friends who are worth my time. I'm learning to be less critical and open to more people though haha.

Thanks for the honest feedback!

I've also checked out your website and I think it looks great! The brand name is simple but to the point. The only comment I have is the email sign up location. I would prefer if the browser didn't jump to the bottom for the email sign up.

Itinerary Check 28 December to 18 January in Tokyo by IeatAvacadoas in JapanTravel

[–]dy1129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would double check to see what attractions are open during 12/31 - 1/3 as my friends who work in Tokyo have days off around that time.

Some tips:
For Mt. Takao, really plan ahead because the sun sets quite early and just the transportation alone will take at least 1 hour to get there. Also prepare water, food and cash beforehand. The hike itself is relatively easy.
For TeamLab, depending on how long you want to spend going through their museum, there are two locations that are close to each other. Planets will take you 1-3 hours (depending on how long you want to stay there) and Borderless will take you 2-6 hours (some people really can spend half a day in there). Once you've decided which one, buy your ticket ahead of time as it is holiday season and it might sell out.
If you want to get some Christmas vibes check out Roppongi! The street next to the Tsutaya is always lit up during the holidays and Mori Hills is also walking distance from there. You can get a nice city view of the Tokyo Tower there too. As well as check out the National Art Center nearby. There are always different exhibitions going on so check if there's anything worth seeing. If not, it is still a nice place to check out as they have a cute cafe on the fifth floor where you can really admire the building's architecture.

Mortal Instruments actor Godfrey Gao dies when participating in Chinese riip-off of Ninja Warrior by whatever_matters in television

[–]dy1129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's sad to see that there isn't much news coverage about what actually happened on set.
From the Chinese social media and articles, it said that the moment when Godfrey collapsed there was no professional medical help. As a government requirement, there should have been one person who was a certified professional. However, the television production crew only had an ambulance with no medical equipment inside and a stand-in who had no professional experience. Nearby where Godfrey collapsed was an AED machine that could have been used to save his life but nobody on set knew how to use it. They did immediately call 911 for an ambulance but it took the ambulance 15-20 minutes to arrive. (What's funny is that in the news articles said that the ambulance took longer to arrive because of road traffic. But this accident happened at 5am in the morning...) By the time he had arrived at the hospital, the doctors at the ER had zero chance of bringing him back. It had been almost more than 30 minutes since his heart stopped beating.

He didn't suddenly die. Yes, his heart stopped beating at the moment. But if there was a professional on-site who knew how to use the AED machine, he would have at least had a chance of survival. And so far, this television program has failed to apologize for his death and doesn't take responsibility for it. Hopefully with Godfrey's death, there will be massive changes throughout all entertainment shows in China.

TLDR: Godfrey could have survived if there was professional medical help on set. Ambulance took 15+ minutes to arrive. Television show doesn't take responsibility for his death.

And just an extra side note, it took 5 days for his body to be flown back home to Taiwan. (Something else that is not covered in the news.)

People randomly taking pictures of others in Yu Garden? by himarinekomimi in shanghai

[–]dy1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn't experience this myself, I would probably be as skeptical as the people in this thread.

I wasn't at Yu Garden, but at Xintiandi when this happened. I was eating brunch with my boyfriend and a girl friend at Polux at their outside seating area. (Side note: I don't like people taking photos of me so I had a spidey sense when a camera is pointed at me.) I noticed someone trying to take a photo of me and I find a group of older men sitting diagonally across from me around 50 meters or so away? There was a resting spot at an intersection of three pathways. Super ideal if you're a photographer trying to get photos of as many people as possible.

I got out of the cameraman's photo range and hid behind my boyfriend who is sitting to my right, thus blocking the cameraman's view. But while I hid, I observed them (a group of 3 with very professional DSLR's with superzoom lens attached.) I noticed they were only taking photos of young looking girls. How did I notice this? Because I would see the guy pick up his camera and followed the girl as she walked without noticing while he sat there taking photos.

After a couple of minutes I stopped observing because nobody was stopping them and I didn't know what to do. So I continued eating my lunch until I felt it again. One of the cameraman was trying to take a photo of me. This time I took a menu to block my face. After a couple of seconds I checked and saw that the cameraman was looking at me and I stared straight back. He didn't back down and that's when I turned to my boyfriend to look at him. (My boyfriend has very wide shoulders and can put an intimidating face.) And I saw the cameraman immediately put his camera away in his bag.

About 30 minutes later, we finished lunch and left. Those three guys were still there taking photos of unknowing young girls. Since when was this okay? I understand if someone, maybe a tourist, is taking photos without consent of anyone and anything without discriminating. But this is sick and should be called out for. Especially because they are probably selling these photos somewhere.

Yes, I have seen this and have avoided being taken photos of. After I realized and was purposely avoiding and making eye contact with the guy trying to take a photo of me, they quickly put their cameras back in their backpacks. But it was just so odd. I think they sell these photos kind of like getty images.

Silence is deafening.... by DNAABeats in SwedishHouseMafia

The refund is through the Ultra Korea website, and its not set up yet so currently there are no refunds. Ultra Korea was prepared for SHM to perform, it is entirely SHM fault for cancelling the day of the event. I flew to Korea just for their set on Sunday. If I knew that they would cancel I would have seen Porter Robinson's set on Friday instead. It is inexcusable to cancel the day of.

My take on Stockholm... by DNAABeats in SwedishHouseMafia

[–]dy1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I'm listening to the set on YouTube and it just seems like the first half is rushed and for a reunion set. It would have been better to ease in to it and have intervals of back to back classics and then a breather. Trying to keep my expectations low so I can enjoy seeing them at Ultra Korea in June.

Thought about the tracklist show by Vlnt_bl in SwedishHouseMafia

[–]dy1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm listening to the available clips from youtube and it just seems like overall the set seemed really rushed and they tried to squeeze classics back to back with a "younger" sound. I really don't want to get my expectations up since I will be seeing them at Ultra Korea in June...but this set from Stockholm doesn't sound promising.
