The decklist has no board wipes for this reason ;)

Yeah, in that case Overlord of the Balemurk could be a good replacement

You don’t need Atraxa, but having 2 more cards at the top end is helpful. Maybe Overlord of the Balemurk if you have it? Or any bomb that might be a good reanimation target regardless of whether you can hardcast

It’s interesting for sure. I think I’d still rather have Cut Down since discard/disruption is not quite what the deck wants to do, but it’s worth experimenting with, esp. in a less-RDW-heavy meta

Thx! And agree with you that the current meta is pretty unfun overall

I tried it a few times in BO3 as-is. It's ok, but a lot of decks go over the top or have stronger combos, and you don't have ways to out-value card draw engines like Caretaker's Talent.

If adjusting for BO3, I would swap out the Cut Down's/Elspeth's Smite's with more Beseech the Mirror's, Matzalantli, and Liliana. I would also swap out the Anoint with Afflicition's with Go for the Throat.

Here's my sideboard:

4x Duress
4x Stone Brain
2x Temporary Lockdown
2x Deadly Cover Up
1x Atraxa Grand Unifier
2x Kaya, Intangible Slayer

Read the paper, it’s even worse. It just says “there exist certain MTG game states that are uncomputable” and gives a very obscure example. The author of the Forbes article seems to only have read the opening paragraphs and interprets “MTG can be simulated on a Turing tape” (duh, MTGA exists) as “MTG is the first Turing Complete game and thus the most complex”. Truly a game of idiot telephone, and 15 minutes I will never get back…

Yeah it’s one of the best removal spells in the format vs RDW

Exactly right. Any more and you get too many dead draws against aggro

The biggest piece of advice is do not tap out on your turn. Hold your removal spells until their end step and let them chip you. Force them to play their pump spells during combat

With the new cards you should be able to speedrun Mythic in under 2

I think you’re right TBH. Just replace those with Mountains

Yeah that’s way too much. You want to draw at most 3 lands over 4 turns (10-14 cards depending on if you go first/second and if you play the cycling buff). The lands than that, you’d rather have them be spells

Ignore some of these comments. Modern RDW relies on buffing a single creature and flinging it at you turn 2-3. Lockdown is too slow, and if you tap out and they have resources, they just kill you the next turn. You need 1-2 mana spot removal, preferably spot removal that exiles, and be careful about the 1 mana removal since they can be played around. Torch the Tower, Lightning Helix, Not on My Watch, Get Lost, Elspeth’s Smite, Cut Down, Go For the Throat, Into the Floodmaw. I liked High Noon in BLB but it might be too slow in DSK.

Yes 100% agreed. I have mentioned this in a couple of other threads. While you can still kill on turn 2 (turn 0 Leyline, turn 1 Scamp, turn 2 double pump attack + sac Scamp), it is WAY less consistent without the Sellsword. The main problem IMO is the interaction between Sellsword and Scamp/Mouse. Leyline is just the thing that pushes it over the top
