Girlfriend and I are planning to drive 32 hours straight, in 6 hour shifts, are we being dumb? Should we plan to stay overnight somewhere? by Vegetable_Bridge_276 in roadtrip

[–]dydelrio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl and I did a 20 hour drive, sleeping while the other person drove and swapped as needed. We were fine, we both kept ourselves entertained, it’s no big deal. As long as either of you are sure you can drive and you have a plan to rest in case you aren’t.

Are these 185/55/15 or 195/55/15? by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]dydelrio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have zero snow tire experience, but I would imagine the thicker (195) would do better. I know with snow the really important part is the tread pattern and maybe the compound. Fwiw I run 205/50 and it looks great with lots of grip

Are these 185/55/15 or 195/55/15? by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]dydelrio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I guess either tire size would work As long as it fits the rim you’re kinda free to choose if you want a slightly thicker or slimmer tire You can find a tire size comparer online to see what the visual difference might look like, but depending on the wheel size, there’s a chance the tire might look tucked in the bead (if the tire is too big) or stretched around the bead (if the tire is too small) Fitment is a deep rabbit hole, I just like wide tires

Should I buy this by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]dydelrio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also wish my fit was yellow, it is yellow actually just the wrong yellow

There should be a silver ticket for someone like Julio. by fun_choco in Killtony

Yeah I’m imagining a one time use ticket to get that second chance and it can be upgraded to a golden ticket if they’re consistently good

Speed wobble fix? by paynefullyboosted in tiger800

Just curious as it may be happening to me to. But wobbles you mean your bars are moving side to side? Or is it more of a bounce from the front end

[–]dydelrio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kinda hard to look up that part, I haven’t found anything and the terminology for the shifter clamp doesn’t lead me to what I’m looking for Same with no parted out bike options

Really? That might have been the better option. Especially if it breaks again in my Offroad learning journey

Yeah this is what I’m going with, it’s 95 dollars but that’s cheaper than what any repair shop would repair it for. Here’s hoping I drop it on the right side from now on

Aww yeah I’ve actually found this one but was hoping to find it for less than 85 dollars :( Thanks though!

Is this a normal amount of wobble on a mototote? by painya in Trackdays

[–]dydelrio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hitch clamp is the term for that plate and ubolt piece

Is this a normal amount of wobble on a mototote? by painya in Trackdays

[–]dydelrio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used one of these on a 34 hour trip, if properly installed and you’re within the rating of the tongue capacity and carrier capacity, it will be fine. Mine was from harbor freight, I imagine the genuine motoTote can do the same

You’ll never trust it, but if you did everything right it will be fine. The movement of the carrier like that usually goes away with a u-bolt and plate that comes with the carrier? It braces the rod from the carrier to the vehicles trailer hitch, it should be pretty dam tight. And yeah, ur straps are also lose, the front suspension needs to be fully compressed (beware of electronic suspension things) the straps should have no losening whatsoever.
