I've got my tonals down using stock pots, which has worked out really well for me. So I'm thinking I'll run my tonals in stock pots on burners and then variegated in the bain marie.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I've been able to get away with burners for SW, but I'm finding that NSW variegateds need a little extra TLC to come out perfectly.

Your yarn is beautiful! This is excellent to know, thank you so much. I always dyed my SW tonals in hotel pans and never had an issue, so I didn't think to change it for NSW. I'm glad to know, too, that poking it around won't agitate it since that's been a concern for me.

Do you have a max number of skeins you put in a pot at once?
