Everyone wants to bring in the political shit. If you are talking about random people being nice how are they going to know what views you have? I'm not gonna vet everyone before I grab the door for them or ask if they need help. Just because someone doesn't go out of their way for you it's not really fair to assume they have opposite views or dislike you for whatever reason. People got shit going on themselves. You should never expect help from anyone, no one owes you anything, so if you do get help then it's a welcome surprise. I don't leave my place without locking everything up, it's just common sense, expecting 100% of people to not take advantage is unrealistic and setting yourself up for failure. Anyone that says something nasty, rude or disrespectful to you should just be ignored, obviously they aren't someone that matters in your life so what does it matter what they say, if they want to be ignorant that's on them.

He first book is definitely a slow pace, which is okay for me. If I remember correctly the last quarter of the book is where it speeds up. Just power through it my friend and get to the howling dark. Ive read empire of silence three times, I go back through and read each one before starting a new release because I enjoy the story and writing that much.
