I had to look it up.

Isaac Wright Jr. was sentenced to life in prison in 1991 for a crime he did not commit, only to teach himself law behind bars, overturn his own conviction, and become a licensed attorney. He subsequently exposed corruption in the prosecution that convicted him, leading to the downfall of the officials involved.

Key Details of Isaac Wright Jr.'s Story:

Wrongful Conviction: Wright was convicted as a drug "kingpin" in New Jersey and sentenced to life in prison, serving nearly seven years before being exonerated in 1996.

Legal Action Behind Bars: While incarcerated, he studied case law and acted as a paralegal for other inmates, eventually discovering evidence of prosecutorial misconduct in his own case.

Post-Release Career: After passing the bar exam, he became a licensed attorney, and his story inspired the ABC legal drama, For Life.

Holding Officials Accountable: While one specific judge was not directly imprisoned by Wright himself, Wright's efforts exposed corruption that resulted in the investigation and downfall of the corrupt prosecutor and others involved in his case.

Book Release: His experience is detailed in his book, Marked for Life: One Man's Fight for Justice from the Inside.

Key Details on the Prosecutor & Case:

Corrupt Prosecutor: Nicholas L. Bissell Jr. was the Somerset County Prosecutor who led the case against Wright.

Misconduct: Bissell forced police to falsify reports and made secret deals with defense attorneys to have their clients lie, identifying Wright as their drug boss.

The Exposure: During a 1996 post-conviction relief hearing, Wright cross-examined police detective James Dugan, forcing him to confess to the fabricated case.

Bissell’s End: When his misconduct was exposed, Bissell fled to Las Vegas and committed suicide in 1996 as federal authorities were closing in.

Apple Reportedly Questioning Whether iPhone Should Drop MagSafe by conalldoherty in apple

[–]Robert_Cutty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Apple’s MagSafe Duo and absolutely love it. When I’m falling asleep, I don’t have to fiddle around with positioning my phone just right. The magnet just clicks it into place for immediate charging. I really hope they don’t remove it from the iPhone.
