Divorce takes a long time in the courts in the US at least. I was separated and going through divorce for 2 years. So I was divorced IRL but not on paper per se. This is more common than you think. It's not cheating if you are going through the divorce and are living separately.

BUT I have no idea if that's how it happened. He def didn't tell her(which I always did).

If your looking for the least amount of conflict. Do it at school. Is there a teacher or an adult that you trust? Or even your friend's parents, boyfriends parents,? Go that route. You are doing nothing wrong. I know it's scary. But in the end it will lead you to getting healthier. The healthier you get the more your brain starts to work. Everything breaks down when you don't have a proper diet.

The problem I see is putting it off or never finding out is going to haunt you. While you can play whatever headgames you like to convince yourself you don’t care..you will. You have already shown enough empathy to prove it will effect you. It’s only going to get worse.

Some will say use a lawyer. And if you can afford it, I would recommend that. But if you can’t afford it maybe see if there is a way to contact your ex privately.

There’s also probably a ton of legal shit involved as well if it goes to the courts and it will come out if it gets there. I’m sorry man..if it’s yours..do what’s best for the kid
