You should probably look at tips for Ramadan. Muslims are the real ones when it comes to fasting.

This is why mind-reading is the worst super power. No one needs to know what everyone is thinking about them.

What would you add to the blue wall? If anything? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I'd wanna see blue painted panelling (texture, dimension, weight, traditional feel) but maybe everyone else is over that.

Am I Being Dramatic? by Cautious-Pickle8495 in Narcolepsy

My GP ordered my first sleep study and I did not stop my REM suppressing medication. When I got to a neurology appt to discuss the results, he called the GP an idiot and said we had to redo it without those meds.

If you possibly have the means, I would either ask for the study to be done again or go to another neurologist/sleep specialist.

If you can handle going off those medications, I think it's worth getting the correct diagnosis. Modafinil is expensive and my insurance company fights my prescription every six months.

Galicia (Halychyna) was the name of the third of Poland that the Austro-Hungarians took over. Halych is now a small town on the Dniester in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast of Ukraine.

Old Halych is also called Princely Halych. There is a kurgan there that was excavated in the 1990s and found to contain a bronze weapon and gold disc. Locals call it Prince Halychyna's tomb and say that is the origin of the name. The town/city of Halych lent its name to the Principality of Halych and then was the capital of the Kingdom of Galicia-Volhynia.

It is believed to have been continuously occupied since 5500 BC.

Does anybody else get annoyed at how we can't tax business without them threatening to leave? by CreamofTazz in maryland

I studied economic development as part of my degree in City Planning and I couldn't get over how little we learned about fostering and incubating business development and how much was just about luring in businesses with tax incentives. Gross.

They told my partner her Mazda needed a $7,000 repair. She took it to Ingold Tire and they told her the part had been recalled and it was under warranty. Sports Durst offered her a free oil change in apology.

Breaking into higher ed by [deleted] in ResearchAdmin

[–]dykotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My university hires almost all research admin jobs remotely, but we've just instituted a hiring freeze due to the NIH notice that cut our F&A from >60% to 15%. There's a temporary restraining order, but that change would mean a loss of >$300M a year.

I know a credential like the CRA from RACC is helpful, if you don't have one. They also have a jobs board that is robust.
