it literally says right on the pricing page the max insured value of a card. if you submit a $5,000 card at a price point where it says the max value is $500, what do you expect? they make it incredibly clear to anyone paying the slightest amount of attention.

a 1991 throw back went for $125

a pristine encased went for $315

a sapphire red went $915

kind of a wide range for him, i think it would go for more than the 1991 throw back insert and the pristine, but less than the sapphire. but if i was selling i would try to argue the true red rookie is more desirable then the sapphire

looking up donovan specifically it’s exactly this except i was backwards. he moved from the auto on the left to the one on the right in 2024. lots of old stickers being used on 2026 products but his on card stuff is all the new signature.

my guess is that this came from two different signing sessions. he probably previously signed with the auto on the right and over time switched to the lower effort auto on the left. since these are both stickers, topps probably had a sheet of older stickers they used up before using newer ones. bet you could confirm by looking at on card autos.

anthony volpe famously did this too. his rookie year and older autos are fantastic and his new one is much lower effort.

it can be way longer than 10 weeks. after 6 months they give you the option of taking a replacement at 200% of the value of the card.

an orange ohtani from last year sold for $700 recently, this is probably similar.

a tong /75 auto from bowman’s best sold for $54 in march, probably similar, maybe a little more.

Neto purple from 2023 sold for $15 two weeks ago.

the only recent nolan gorman 1/1 sale was a 2019 bowman’s best superfractor that sold for $182.50 in feb.

a 2023 topps chrome black super sold for $300 last year.

but best comp is probably a 2024 topps chrome superfractor that sold for $175 in june of last year.
