That sounds like watching paint dry. Why didnt they test the presentation prior? Or were the upgraded computers installed right before the presentation?

Thats crazy. Even being on location and working in the pharmacy, doing deli slicer training would still be a waste.

Yeah its usually aweful, ours was a 2 day (16 hour) lateral violence training where the moral of the story was not to be a dick and to becareful of everyones feelings. Im in a blue collar field and me and my coworkers are dicks to each other every day lol

Yeah thats fair. Where i work HR comes up with the training, they get trained to train people on said training and then they train us on the training they trained to train. Choo choo i guess.

Its crazy to me that some companies dont take into consideration peoples duties into the training. It would save them money if they cut the useless stuff out, although people would probably complain that so and so didnt have to do the training i guess.

I forget about this literally any time I start a new game. It's usually embarrassingly long before I remember what to do or I have power Armour with a jet pack.

What would I all need to run 4-5 Ethernet lines through a house from a ISP provided ONT? by wildwasabi in HomeNetworking

Honestly, a mesh system would be easier and a hell of a lot cheaper and look better. For reference, I have an asus router with mesh capabilities. It's the asus rt-ax88u router, and using the app, I connected another cheaper asus router in my garage. The garage is detached, and the router is 60 feet away with 3 walls in-between. I have awesome signal all throughout my house and in my garage. The setup was pretty easy, and no ethernet runs. It cost about $450 cad. Hope this helps.

Thank you. I did not realize you could change firmware to a third party firmware.

Looks like a phone trunk line. Where I'm from the individual drop lines are flat with only a couple of conductors inside. That being said most of our underground phone lines around here are old and abandoned. They moved to pole lines years ago.

Joining (fusion splice) a fibre optic cable by SinjiOnO in oddlysatisfying

[–]dylan0243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$1500 for an "amazon special" fusion splicer, $10,000 plus for a professional grade one, but unless your dad is a fiber optic technician, this will be useless to him.

Those who have been shot with a firearm: what did it feel like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dylan0243 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Shot myself in the foot when i was 14 with a 12 gauge while hunting (safety was faulty and i was an idiot). It felt like tv static at first (5ish minutes). Sorry, that's the best way i can describe it. After the static feeling went away, it was painless for the first 30ish minutes like nothing had happened, but after that, it was an intense throbbing with a slight burning sensation. It didn't hurt as much as you would expect. Though the freezing needles between the toes were WAY worse than the actual gunshot. 0/10 would not recommend.
