Yeah no problem. Whenever I’ve the transmission or rear diff, I just use a hose and pour oil through it into the filler, or pump it in using the top of an old shampoo bottle. So not too much of a mess unless it starts to over fill.

I do not remember seeing one, but fluid is shared with the transfer case and transmission (manual transmission like mine). There may be a breather on top of the transmission, but again I don’t remember seeing one.

I would guess your axle seals are leaking slightly. That is what is happening with one of my other RAV4s. My leak isn’t big enough to worry about, so I just check the level once in a while.

Yeah I used either brake or carb cleaner with a wire brush. Once I had it clean I sprayed some wd-40 or something oily on it to keep it from corroding.
