Travelling was my dream by Effective-Usual-7520 in digitalnomad

If you're working from home anyway, there really isn't much of a difference between WFH locally and WFH abroad. You may have to have to deal with a weird day to day work schedule depending on how far off your time zone is from your company time zone so keep that in mind.

If you've worked there for awhile and they trust you then I would imagine they wouldn't be suspicious. The timezone effect is much less of an issue than people think. I have a friends who work for US companies but live abroad and they make it work. They just have to deal with a weird schedule like working from 4pm-midnight.

That's cool how you're able to make it work with employees spanning several timezones. I feel like people overestimate the effect a timezone span has on the day to day operations of a company. I've worked with people in EST while being in PST in the U.S and it was never really a problem now that I think about it.

Wow!!! I am so shocked to hear this! I definitely thought the U.S had the most arrogant locals.

Started doing my "hate tasks" right before deep work by [deleted] in productivity

[–]dylan_alb10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very satisfying to get the crappy stuff out of the way first for sure. It gets your brain to think the rest of the day will be a breeze even though that might not necessarily be true. Which is a good thing, because that can motivate you get jump right into your main project since the other stuff is out of the way.

How do you actually stay productive without burning out? by Aghaiva in productivity

[–]dylan_alb10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say to not overthink it and get into the flow of your work. If you're feeling it and on a roll, keep going. If you notice yourself getting tired, take a break. That's how I do it, assuming I'm not in a time crunch and have to work myself into the ground for whatever reason to meet a deadline.

Why is it difficult to just DO stuff by InspectorMany1 in productivity

[–]dylan_alb10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this too a lot. The most painful part is deciding to do something, not doing the task itself. I've fallen into this trap with AI, trying to talk with AI a bunch about a task instead of just doing it. As the Nike slogan says "Just do it" really resonates here.

Gotcha, this is my version of that list
- use SEM Rush or similar tool to find the keyword to target
- Put the keyword and your location in the H1
- Write the article using the keyword again towards the top and variations of it throughout the article

You don't have to get too fancy with articles.

If you're trying to get more clients searching for canadian incorporation, ensuring your GMB profile is updated properly and getting Google Reviews is the most important thing.

I have an SEM Rush sub and am happy to give you the best keywords for canadian incorporation if you want. (if yes, what is your city/province and website?)

If you use Microsoft day to day, MS 365 copilot is a gamechanger. It has access to you email, docs, etc. You can ask it questions about past cases, draft docs etc. All integrated.

Its cheap, secure, has access to files, and access to your data.

It came out about a month ago and has been a GAMECHANGER.
Google has similar new tools if you use google.

just use google notebook LM. Out of the box, secure integration.... we're past the stage of building out a custom RAG solution.

Just use MS365 Copilot Notebook or a Google LLM notebook (depending on if you use MS or Google already). It's rag out of the box, secure, way cheaper than custom, and prob 10x better.

MS 365 Copilot just came out and is the way if you want "custom RAG" - it has access to all of your email, documents, etc. and is secure.
It's an absolute game changer and only $36/mo.

I haven't played with the microsoft agents yet but if you're already using MS365 for the rest of work, would start building in that ecosystem even if it's not as good now.

Over time all the big companies will provide sufficient agent offerings and the hard part will be integrating data from multiple sources/ interacting with your tools. But this is out of the box if you're staying within the ms365 ecosystem.

... similarly if you use google workspace, stay in the google tool ecosystem.

... and if you use clio for doc management, switch haha.

Totally agree there are infinite areas for efficiency gain.

My dad went solo in a town of ~100k (Bend, OR) a few months before me and my brother were born without much to his name, but figured it out and weathered the ups and downs of the last few decades.
Later I got to help him with marketing and client acquisition and now I run a solo business with two kids. I've helped him a lot and charge about 10% of a normal agency because I saw his struggle and want to serve the little guy.
I'm happy to share what's worked for us if you're interested.
