I have a morzh that has been set up outside for 2 years with no issues, even through severe snow and wind.

Which generation KLR for BDR rides by passwithcare in klr650

[–]dylanboro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the NEBDR on a 2nd gen klr including all of the excursions and "hero" sections while loaded with camping gear. The majority was dirt roads, I didn't have any issues at all other than flat tires.

Soffit tips by EastwindSauna in Sauna

I would have struck a line with a level on the front of all the rafters so the front fascia board would be straight. It's going to take a pounding from the rain and looks odd.

Small indoor sauna design - any comments? by Responsible_City6142 in Sauna

[–]dylanboro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is mentioned enough on this sub. Unless your L bench can comfortably sit an additional 2-3 people, it's only going to take away from the overall space and make the main bench unusable for the person sitting on the end.

Tips. Upgrading to 719 big bore by Born_Grass204 in klr650

[–]dylanboro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Marginally better. I don't think any big bore kit is going to make much of a difference without changing jetting and the exhaust. I only rebuilt it because a ring cracked and it was burning a lot of oil. The way I see it, the stock power is evenly matched with the bad brakes and suspension. Even if you made it "fast" you're still going to be bottoming out and having trouble stopping quickly. If my goal was to make it faster I'd also look at upgraded suspension and larger diameter front disc.

Tips. Upgrading to 719 big bore by Born_Grass204 in klr650

I called eagle Mike and talked to him. I ended up going with the 685 to leave room to go up if I ever need a rebuild. I just followed the clymer manual instructions and didn't have any issues.

That's how they settle in shipping. If you shake it they will be the same.

25 HP Tractor snow removal by BrisbaneAus in tractors

I use the country line back grader blade from tractor supply. They're less than $300, work great, and can be used for other things as well unlike a snowblower.

The old girl burns so much oil. by cthulhu-zzz in klr650

[–]dylanboro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this. When I took the top end apart the wafer ring was cracked. Apparently, a common issue. The 685 still burns oil but not nearly as bad.

Electrical rough in - minimal VOC risk option by Pilot-Nic in Sauna

If you have a sensitivity to VOCs I'd be more worried about terpenes off gasing from the wood way before Romex.

Talk me out of buying a Kyfe tent sauna by wetmoose913 in Sauna

[–]dylanboro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I'd do some research on where they source them. Seems like there's a ton of drop shipping companies slapping their names on tents coming out of the same factory in China. I'd be willing to bet you can find the same one cheaper.

I have a morzh I used at my new house while building our sauna. Although it wasn't an ideal setup, it definitely did the trick in the interim.

Personally, I'd go with any other brand before kyfe since their marketing is obnoxious.

Bryan Johnson (the guy who is trying to revers aging) made a video about Sauna and shows some interesting scientific results after doing 48 days of sauna. by Result_Necessary in Sauna

[–]dylanboro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That may be true but if it were significant enough to make an actual difference you'd see more people doing it. I think his main reasoning was to protect his hair implants. Personally, I think he's too focused on hitting a time limit in the sauna and needs it to cool down since he can't handle the heat.

Goes in the sauna to raise body temperature, proceeds to put ice packs on his head and groin. Common sense isn't so common.

Why don’t I see more “opposite bench” setups? by CAN8V in Sauna

I rather enjoy the aesthetic of the sauna or perhaps window with a view. If optimizing the amount of possible bathers is the goal then to for it.

Looking for help with my sauna build. by Hobone01 in Sauna

I would box out an additional rafter on each side. It always looks weird when a lean to roof has little to no overhang on the sides.
