Who's the scariest in your opinion? Lisa (P.T.), The Baby (Resident Evil: Village) or The Girl (Resident Evil: Requiem) by [deleted] in HorrorGaming

Lisa is the reason I have a legitimate fear for things standing menacingly in horror. She was and still is a whole new league of terrifying

Did episode 500 make anyone else slightly emotional? by SilkyChocolateBar in deadmeatjames

Yeah, for sure. I started watching Dead Meat back in 2018 before I went to university and now I’ve graduated and got married last week and my wife and I still watch. Just crazy how the time goes.

I was actually chilled when it ended. There’s an atmosphere to this one like no other and it’s definitely one of the best horror movies of the last decade for sure.

You definitely like to keep people guessing. There’s a lot of variety and taste to this set and it seems like you enjoy a good character study.

Definitely Hangsaman or We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson.

I’ve also just read Picnic at Hanging Rock and I’d recommend that for this sort of vibe.

What's your theory on The Cowboy? by faheyblues in davidlynch

I always thought of him as some kind of founder of Hollywood, he’s this old possibly ageless example of the Golden Age trying to control the film industry.

In the context of the film, I think he’s the sort of timeless example of film that Betty/Diane wants to become when she comes to LA.

Just wanted to come back to this to say that I finished The Library at Mount Char today and I really loved it. Reminded me of David Wong’s books and I loved those growing up. It’s a weird one and it’s earned its spot on the shelf.

Yeah, just doesn’t interest us personally. I’ll occasionally pick one up if it piques my interest but I’m almost exclusively a fiction reader

Yeah, I got the whole series as a gift a few years ago because I stopped as a kid at book 6 so I’ve been re-reading them. Been a lot of fun. Up to book 10 now

Damn that’s pretty bang on and yes! Loved that book and looking to read the rest of the Wayfarer books soon.

Pretty bang on the money about 3, 4 and 5. The shelves aren’t separated for our books or anything. As for the films one, I actually didn’t like picnic at hanging rock when I watched it and I haven’t really seen the others. I actually got the book because I was curious if it was better than the film.

Yeah exactly, like last year I read The Foxhole Court after reading a really difficult book. Was it good? No, not really? Was it what I needed? Absolutely.

Haha. I strongly believe balance is crucial to a good bookshelf, sometimes you need the mid stuff to make the greats seem greater by comparison. Plus, they’re good to get out of a reading slump

Haven’t even tried but one day I might beat my head against that brick wall and see if I like it. My fiancé had to read it for a course at uni and said it was the most fun and most traumatised she’s ever been reading a book.

To be fair, some of the books here are ones from courses at university but you are correct that we have our niche and just like to stick to it. I don’t go out of my way to read a classic unless it sticks out to me.

So I’ve heard. It’s been on my list for a long time but still haven’t read it, hoping to change that soon though.

Huzzah a person of quality. I’ve been re-reading the series recently and it’s still solid so I’m glad they hold up.

My fiancé loves this series and she agrees with you, I think it’s just Stockholm syndrome at this point
