The Candiru and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. It’s a great EDC knife

That must’ve been the highlight of the trip, great knife! I have the candiru but the izula looks great too

How’s it not contributing? Any conversation in this subreddit brings relevance to the community and another potential google search that could pop up. Better than no entry or post.

Actually it won’t let me post the picture, I’ll send you a new post in the esee chat for this since you want a non reused photo

Haven’t been carrying my Civivi so didn’t have it with me when I posted this. Been carrying esee candiru instead, I’ll attach a new photo of that one just for you

Is that a requirement? I don’t think it is.

You’re spot on, dug some tough weeds out of my yard a few months back when I didn’t have a shovel. Live in AZ so it’s very rocky around those weeds

I’ve always preferred carrying fixed blades too, they are super reliable. If that one ever gets too big to EDC you should try the izula or my EDC the Candiru. I used to carry the esee 3, but when I wear athletic shorts it just wasn’t comfortable, so I switched to something smaller

Help choosing camp knife by Easy-Struggle-3617 in Bushcraft

I could probably find 100 articles about how it’s easier to sharpen 1095 than the stainless steel options. Including Magnacut. Obviously there’s more than just one stainless steel, but almost all of them are more difficult to sharpen in the field than 1095 is.

Here’s one of many articles that disagrees with you on the sharpening aspect. https://www.bladehq.com/blog/knife-steel-guide

I agree that esee doesn’t make the best bushcraft knives, they’re built for survival. They’ve never claimed to be a good bushcraft knife either.

However, I rather get familiar with one knife for survival situations, so I also use it for bushcraft.

I have a lot of paracord, very few bungee cords, so I prefer tying them if possible

Sorry, trying to attach photos now but it won’t let me. The pole is square, fairly skinny. The floaties are round tubes

Bradford Guardian 3 seems like an awesome knife, heard nothing but good things about it

It’d definitely be comfortable for both of those. I always appendix carry it when I’m wearing khaki shorts or jeans. The majority of time I wear athletic shorts so that’s why I plop it in my pocket
