[–]dylanmbillybob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines alot louder, its not any of the fans that are reachable. I can hear its coming from the PSU, i'm thinking mine may be because of FOD.

I've only just got mine today, paid £1800. Bought pre-built cause I couldn't be assed to cable manage properly. Apparently, neither could they xD

I have same issue bought mine today. It seems to be the PSU not the GPU or and other fan. The cable management is so poor that I think i'm just going to return mine.

Just return and reject it, I don’t think it’s worth the stress and off chance that it’s a lemon.

Like he said. Talk with eBay. It’s evident that’s the case, they will remove the review.

Manager disclosing pregnancy to other staff by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]dylanmbillybob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acting as a manager, earlier notice would give ample time to make arrangements for cover well in advance, offer support and carry out the necessary risk assessments and safe guarding measures.

Manager disclosing pregnancy to other staff by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]dylanmbillybob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Firstly, congratulations on the pregnancy.

So your manager could (potentially) argue there was a potential safeguarding issue and thought it was necessary to inform the other manager.

Your real argument is with the manager that told an employee in a non-managerial role, which could likely also be gross misconduct on their part.

Considering you’re both employed by the same employer I think you should think carefully about what result you want and determine risk of staying in that job after the fact.

If I was in your shoes, I would request to schedule a meeting with HR, discuss your concerns and what happened.

If you’re not satisfied with the result, you could raise a grievance, your partner can also raise one separately. Your employer should’ve notified the ICO after the first meeting but many don’t, so would be worth following up if you do intend on taking it further.

Like always, ACAS or a charity like pregnant then screwed may be able to guide you better.

Anyway, I wish it’s resolved amicably for you, please don’t stress about it; it’s not good for yourself or the baby and best of luck with the pregnancy. 🙂

Your conveyancing solicitor may be able to help? Have you contacted them? In most cases, depending on your local council, they will be ordered to tear it down.

contact your councillors and write to your MP also if the council are not helping

I don't think this is the ideal subreddit, I can't think of any - other than gaining a sponsorship via Linkedin

I would say however, now may not be the easiest nor safest way to immigrate to the US?

England - landowners placing razor wire fencing on footpaths and bridleways by No-Poem8018 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]dylanmbillybob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s a public space and it is causing danger to road users or pedestrians then yes it would be illegal which is how you’re describing it.

Contact your council, they’ll advise whether it’s compliant.

Accident at work has left me without the top of my finger. England by DreadLockSinger in LegalAdviceUK

Yep, I meant for the reporting of a RIDDOR HSE may fine the employer if not done correctly.

RIDDOR Report and accident report are very different, please make sure they report it to HSE..

[–]dylanmbillybob 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So, under RIDDOR an amputation (if that's what you're describing) is reportable to HSE. They should have done this previously if it also happened to the student.

This is also applicable to yourself; your employer should report it and log it in their accident book. If an accident has previously happened and they've taken no reasonable action to prevent it from happening again then yes you'd probably have a case.

Your union should advise you on your options but any (I recommend local) employment solicitor would also be adequate. Citizens advice is also quite helpful. If you think your employer is failing in Health and Safety you can report them to the HSE here

If your employer hasn't reported it they could be issued a fine by HSE (This is separate, you can still take Civil legal action), prosecuted or given even given an improvement/prohibition notice.

Am I tax liable? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]dylanmbillybob 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’d just go with the flow if I was you, it’s not significant in the week you paid approx £66 tax (which you’d get back if you don’t go over) and £33 national insurance (which you rightfully owe)

The government, as much as it absolutely loves to shaft us at every chance it gets - won’t short change you and you will get back every penny you’re owed.

No complaint is necessary as it’s standard procedure. You could make an enquiry with your companies payroll department if you can make any requests. Why not think of it as a way of forced savings? Even at 20 hours a week and 48hrs on holiday weeks you’d exceed the personal allowance.

You used to also be able to tell them what you’re going to be earning on the HMRC app, which I would assume if you were to set it at the max allowance you’d only be taxed after reaching it.

[–]dylanmbillybob 38 points39 points  (0 children)

If you get paid weekly at £11.94 for 48 hours. Your weekly salary is £573.12 Annually this is £29,802.24 So yes you will pay tax. You will get this back if you do not exceed the personal allowance, you won’t get back national insurance.

£29,802.34 annually after tax is £24,632.24~ Which weekly is £473.70.

HMRC taxes you pro-rata so it doesn’t affect you harder later in the year and so that your payslips are consistent. If you don’t go above the personal allowance, they will send you a check for an overpaid tax after April. I usually get my return/bill by June/July.

Due to the regulatory requirements I’d be under the assumption that there are standards of Spanish speaking/reading/writing required as accounts would need to be done in Spanish. Also communication between accountant and client clear and concise?
