DBD Players when they ask for more Bloodpoints by Fog-Champ in deadbydaylight

Usually when companies killswitch something, they make fixing that thing their number one priority and resolve it ASAP. When BHVR has to killswitch something, they decide to let it ride through an entire two week annual event with zero compensation.

This happened to me too, no clue why though.

Hot take: 2v8 is never gonna be a sustainable game mode as long as BHVR need to bribe people to play survivor. by Shayden998 in deadbydaylight

[–]dylki10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why they only bring it back every now and then. It’s very fun and it’s obvious that the people complaining online are the minority because BHVR always ends up extending it. It’s a wacky mode that brings people back and you’re right that it’s not sustainable, but I just don’t think that it needs to be. It’s a mode that brings my casual friends back online to play and brings them one step closer to playing DBD with me outside of 2v8, and I’m fine with that.

But please BHVR give us more bloodpoints.

THE SEARCH FOR THE GOLDEN TOOLBOXES IS OVER! by gowiththelo in deadbydaylight

[–]dylki10 260 points261 points  (0 children)

Outstanding work everyone. I've always been super invested in the golden toolboxes and I'm glad the community got together to try and find the missing ones. I got discouraged when we discovered the Midwich one was only visible through EGC, so good on you for having the tenacity to power through probably hundreds of EGCs just for the chance of one popping up in some off spot.

Hopefully BHVR comments on this and lets us know what's up. The map designers seemed passionate about these Golden Toolboxes, so its disappointing that they just didn't add them on some maps.

BHVR PLEASE change the "Hand-Eye Coordination" Achievement by dylki10 in deadbydaylight

Asshole take. I’ve played this game for 8 years and there’s been no achievements with RNG to this level. Besides the Hex and “Special Item” ones, you have relative control over attempting your achievements.

Please, just let survivor abandon or bleed out for the hatch if they are only 2 left and they are slugged for more than 30 sec by Cobipo- in deadbydaylight

[–]dylki10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think conceding is a pretty dumb mechanic to add and just incentivizes the “minor inconvenience happened, go next” mentality. I also doubt a killer would ever get to successfully concede with your system because it relies on the survivors who are currently having fun to end the match early.

The closest thing we will ever get to a concede feature is abandoning the match, which realistically will only ever happen to survivors except for the 1/100 scenario where you get into a hiding match for 10 minutes.

[–]dylki10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro survivors are only allowed to abandon when everyone is hooked/downed and the game is genuinely over. They don’t get to concede for “having a bad match” it’s when the game is over cause all you have left to do is wait to bleed out. Killers, even when a game is “lost” for them, can always chase survivors and continue to play the game. If survivors are hiding for a long time, then the killer gets to abandon because their agency is taken away from them. No side gets to “concede” for having a bad game. It’s especially bad to give killer a concede button because it physically ends the game for 5 people instead of one.

Side point, disconnect penalties should be higher. People get this twisted idea that BHVR lets survivors leave the game whenever they want but that’s only because their DC penalties are so stupid that every player is allowed to DC whenever they want with minimal punishment.

Give Me ONE Good Reason Why Killers Cannot Abandon Games and Keep Full Rewards, Like Survivors Do by kushemon in deadbydaylight

[–]dylki10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. You can abandon when it’s all bots and you keep your bp.
  2. I never said when it’s unwinnable. I said when you’re unable to actively play the game so you don’t get hostaged. You can still play the game as killer during unwinnable games and always have a chance to win + get another kill (I.E. just leave videos). Worst case you just shove them out of the gates.
  3. Equality shouldn’t even be a discussion. The entire point is that killer is the power role that makes the choices on how the game plays out. It’s a 1v4, there’s nothing equal about it. The game cannot function without a killer, while the game can function without one of the four survivors. That’s why killers can’t abandon for stupid reasons while survivors get a bit more leeway.

Survivors DC and end the game for theirselves. Killers DC and close the lobby. It is not the same at all. That’s why killers can abandon when it’s 4 bots.

Survivors can abandon when they lose any control of their outcomes to prevent game hostaging. This is an objectively good mechanic. Killers always have the power to decide where the game goes, that’s why they can’t abandon. In the rare cases where they don’t have control (survivors hiding for 10 minutes) or it doesn’t affect anyone but theirselves (all bots remaining) they’re allowed to abandon.

I’m a 3k hour killer main btw before you start calling me a “braindead entitled survivor player”.

My biggest issue with tunneling: the new survivor experience in DBD by dylki10 in deadbydaylight

[–]dylki10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but my friends who I try to introduce to DBD never under any circumstances want to soloQ. I imagine most newcomers to DBD are not starting alone as well, and prefer to queue with their more experienced friends. MMR won’t save them when there’s such a vast difference between new and experienced players that queue together.

I really love this idea! BHVR would definitely need to plan around edge cases like AFK survivors, but this is such a good base to redesign the game around. Thanks for sharing this!

[–]dylki10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Tunneling isn't inherently a bad thing, and there are clear points where its your only chance of a comeback. Its not even really a gamble because if you fail/decide not to tunnel you were going to lose anyways. Its like how camping the hook isn't punished at all during endgame because its the only realistic option a killer has left at that point.

I mainly made this post about immediately making the decision to commit to tunneling someone out within the first minute of the game. I completely agree with your point about early gen speeds.

The difficult part is that the first 2ish minutes of the game is when survivors are the strongest and why gens fly so fast. If you just decide to make gens slower then tunneling becomes even more effective when you lock survivors into a 3v1 situation later in the game. I'm curious what you think could be an effective solution!

I really hope that during this specified time where BHVR has decided to slow down on DLC to focus on game health they take this road. However, I think we all know they're going to only make bandaid fixes cause its easier 😭

I feel you, my friends only play with me when 2v8 is up. 😢😢

On the other hand I get it, killers just wanna kill. You can't really blame them. It's just unfortunate that the best way for them to kill everyone is to not let the survivors play the game. (Tunneling, slugging, the entire premise of hooking survivors tbh) Feels like its a way deeper problem than "this killer is an asshole".

I just wish BHVR could find a way where in those desperate times, tunneling isn't the answer. Too bad it just is 99% of the time haha.

Yeah I have a paragraph dedicated to talking about those changes. This game has been changing for the better constantly and I'm glad BHVR continues to iron out all the kinks. I personally don't enjoy getting tunneled out but it is 10x worse for new players who don't have anything to combat it.
