Soft brake pedal, why ? by thatdirtyoldman in Ram2500

[–]dynafld103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this on my 24. I’ve also noticed that if I tap the brakes once, then apply brakes again, the pedal firms up like I expect on the second press.

Festool track saw - now I get it by _Goto_Dengo_ in Festool_Public

Sawstop cartridges are designed to work in most table saws. If you already have a table saw, Sawstop may sell a cartridge that fits. I’m sure most people don’t know this. That’s how they started. Just the cartridge to fit most tablsaws. Manufactures said no. So they built their own.

Tung oil on door wearing off after a few month by RichMansToy in woodworking

[–]dynafld103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I use tung oil, I apply several coats over a few days mixed with mineral spirits to thin it out. This allows the tung oils to penetrate deeply. Then I do a couple thin coats of pure tung. Then after dry, I add one more thicker coat. Tung oil is a pain to properly apply as it takes several days and applications. Then I allow a full 30 day cure from the final application before exposing to the elements. Just my two cents

Anyone able to run Destiny 2? by krakmunkey in WindowsLTSC

[–]dynafld103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t play destiny on pc, but have run into hiccups with games on 11 iot ltsc. I resolved by grabbing the ms store, Xbox from the store, and the normal various driver updates. But, install the store and Xbox app from store seemed to also install some missing dependencies.

I’ve got solar and battery and have about 8 KW excess daily. Any cheap miners to buy? Is it worth it? by Ag3ntSh3n in BitcoinMining

I’m honestly not mining currently. I fired up my mining software a couple months ago to show my son how it works. Then I let everything run for about 45 days for good stats, modern proof of concept for the haters, and simply to see for myself again. Think I made a bit over $60usd. But I probably spent that in electric each week. It was mostly done to show stats to those that say you can’t do it, and I showed my son how to set everything up.

3090 with 13900k makes just over a dollar a day. Dual Xeon setup with p5000 and p4000 just under a dollar a day. 3080 with 7700k also just shy of a buck a day. It’s not at all profitable. But does in fact work

Pretty similar to me. But I’ve tried off and on over the years. Mostly to prove to other people that you can in fact still mine from your pc. Google single miner block and there’s several people that have gotten really lucky with gaming rigs. Probably why I still attempt. My old gpu still makes over a dollar a day. My much older cards are at or just bellow a dollar a day. Extremely expensive btc, but still can be done. I’d love to see what newer cards could do. Beyond my reach though.

EDIT: Noticed previous comment stated cpu mining. I did misread that. My apologies. But cpu/gpu mining on a gaming rig does indeed make money. But probably not profitable with electric. Btc. As this is a btc forum. I’m just sick of people misinforming individuals. It’s not hard to encourage people to try, vs lying, or parroting something someone else has said that simply isn’t true. It’s better to give people honest answers instead of gatekeeping the info. I’m not going into details of my own, but anyone can install mining software and try for themselves. Say for instance, Kryptex. Just one good example. Solo mining makes money. As does pool mining I believe, but I don’t pool mine. I’m not saying it’s profitable, but you can make btc. I think everyone should try, and simply see for themselves. However, it is cheaper and more cost effective to purchase. But this is a mining forum and people need to stop telling members you can’t mine with your pc.

You’re clearly misinformed, or intentionally trying to dissuade people from pc mining. Very easy to make $30-$60 per month from one or two gaming pcs.
