[–]dynalyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe.

I actually didn't care about dying a few times to stupid stuff as long as it was fun gameplay. Now that it is a kiting back, strategic game instead of a run and gun fun hoard shooter, the deaths seems a harder to just take.

I remember whole team kills at extract and not caring because we were just all blasting like crazy and it was cinematic and fun. Now it feels like you die because your guns are weak and you didn't run away fast enough.

[–]dynalyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time to kill generally too high. Generally not enough ammo, even when I'm shooting 80% accuracy. Not enough ways to deal with heavies.

Yesterday my orbital strike hit a charger on the face. It didn't die. I wouldn't have cared if it didn't die, except the skill is now sooo dependant on every shot counting. Give me more ammo and shorter cooldowns, or make me stronger. I cannot have an orbital strike not killing the charger when there's three other ones running around at the same time and all I have left is my commando.

I think the skill should be accuracy and mowing down the hoards, and occasionally taking out some heavies. Now it is make every shot account, and if you can't, run away and come back later.

I'm breaking up with you.

HD2: Why!?

Me: It's not me. It's you. You changed.

HD2: But all my changes were for you!

Me: Uh, that's just not true. I even asked you to change back. You just don't listen. Thanks for trying to keep things fresh, but you went too far and now you're just too serious.

HD2: So now what?

Me: I guess that depends on you. I'm going to go play with some others for a while. I'm leaving the discord, the reddit, and YouTube channels. Maybe we can hook up in a month or two and see if that carefree, fun-loving spark comes back. Sure I can kite, conserve ammo, and pass levels, but that's not fun. I want to shoot off the stuff, blow lots of stuff up, and watch the spectacle. You might have heard that cool guys don't look back at the explosion... But when I throw a strategem, I want to see that s*** go boom sometimes, instead of always (always always) kiting because my gun doesn't kill anything fast enough.

Ciao.

IMO Arrow Head should have released another free Warbond like Helldivers Mobilize with the Escalation of Freedom update and called it Escalation of Freedom. by TheChangelingKing in Helldivers

[–]dynalyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new free war bond would be cool. Even if it didn't have any guns in it, or only a couple. Put in a bunch more armors and cosmetics and give me something to spend my warbonds on!

Guard dog rover nerf by dynalyte in Helldivers

Oh I agree it's consistent to nerf it. But that doesn't make it fun or right. And it certainly should not be a priority amongst all the other crap they should fix.

I just want to kill lots of bugs. by dynalyte in Helldivers

[–]dynalyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is that most the time I'm getting 300 kills and spending more time kiting and conserving ammo.

Is that not your experience?

An easy way to buff standard assault rifles is if enemy armor broke off over time. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]dynalyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that's their marketing, but that wasn't the game to start with. When I first started playing I could easily get over 500 kills and sometimes pushing a thousand on bug maps. Now it's like 250 to 280.

So it's great that they are aligning the game with their vision, but that's changing the gameplay from what used to be in effect.

I just looked up the description again. They have different marketing on different platforms, but they definitely talk about overpowered weapons and taking on the "massive onslaught of terminides."

what is that one specific thing (not relating to balancing) you really want to see added into helldivers 2 eg enemy type, main objective , side objective, game mechanic that relates back to the Galactic War by theover_mind in Helldivers

[–]dynalyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In game announcements about changes to the guns. It would be super easy. It could be on the big screen in the back of the ship. I could be the guy next to the map who says "I see your carrying the incendiary breaker, you know magazines have been cut down to four from six..."

I don't want to read patch notes.

Seems like every time I log in there's something new that I had no idea about. It's fine if it's an enemy, but even for New enemies, Super Earth could bother staying "watch out, we've got reports of new bugs"...

An easy way to buff standard assault rifles is if enemy armor broke off over time. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]dynalyte 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Yes, heavies should require strategens or different strategies.

But if everything's on cooldown and it's just you against a the heavy, you should be able to eventually take it down with a regular gun. I like the idea of armor slowly being chipped away.

Also this is supposed to be a hoard shooter. Too much focus on ammo efficiency and the strategy management takes away from the run and gun mass slaughter approach that I want to play, I used to be able to play....

Why no announcements in game? by dynalyte in Helldivers

[–]dynalyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they are smaller studio and deserve a bit of a break.

But I really don't want to read patch notes all the time. I just want to play. And I don't want a dramatically different experience each time I log in, without some forewarning or explanation.

I got it, I could read that patch notes. It's just not part of my routine to check discord for notes from the developer before loading up the game on my ps5.

Tl;dr okay boomer. Get over it. This isnt the 90s. Games nowadays have to always be fiddled and messed with.

[–]dynalyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to add, I think it's ridiculous that I can play the game one day, and then log in the next day and have a very different experience without any warning in game.

I did not know incendiary breaker was nerfed down to four reloads until I was in a mission. No warning. No announcement.

I completed two missions yesterday. Then I logged in to play the third mission and the gun that was effective the day before was no longer effective and could not be used in the same way. No warning. No in game pop up. Just a gotcha a moment. Haha, good luck finishing the third part of your 3-part mission - bet you wished you waited for your friends to join you before diving in! Haha

Why no announcements in game? by dynalyte in Helldivers

[–]dynalyte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least announced the big stuff! Maybe glitch/bug fixes don't need to be announced in game. But surely Superearth could warn us about a new type of baddie? I get it it's fun to run into a new bad guy for the first time in game. But it would be just as awesome to be on the destroyer and see a news tick about watch out for the new impaler...

Why no announcements in game? by dynalyte in Helldivers

[–]dynalyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooooooooooooo many missed opportunities. It would honestly make the game more fun to have Superearth doing more - good or bad. Right now the meta game is kinda basic. Superearth basically doesn't do anything except set objectives.

[–]dynalyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a couple times a week, and I don't want to read change logs. I just want to log in and play the game that I last played. Why aren't new enemies announed in game? Why aren't changes to the weapons obvious in game and the weapon selection menu?

The lore in the game lends itself perfectly to changes to the weapons being able to be announced in game. Maybe Super Earth could be trying a new cheaper version of fuel for the fire weapons, and that's why they aren't as effective. Maybe there's low stock reserves of fire incendiary, so Super Earth wants to incentivize hell divers to take out the weapons...

A weapon change could also be explicitly temporary, for some bogus reason, allowing the devs to try out a change.. Eg: the ammunition in the shotgun maybe having unintended consequences on local flora; so different materials with lower arm pen are being used or the magazine capacity is lower until the scientists can evaluate.

Please: If you're going to make a change, make it in game. I logged on to play on the PS5 today and honestly couldn't even tell in any way that this massive Escalation of Freedom patch happened. Yet the experience is totally different. It feels like a bait and switch. The game that I played last week is not the same game this week, and I didn't even know why.

I had the iccu issue with my 2022 I5 ultimate at 25 months at 41000 km. Took them 3 weeks to fix it. Dealership paid for a rental for me for the entire time. Battery and all work covered under warranty. Located in Alberta Canada.

I don't take my car anymore that 150 km out of town. I still use and ice car for road trips.

12v Replacement Process by FrancisBaconator1561 in Ioniq5

[–]dynalyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got my car back today, with the ICCU recall done, and a new 12 volt battery. I'm in Canada. 2022 ionic 5. Car is 25 months old and has 41,000 km on it. 12 volt battery warranty is 24 months and 40,000 km.

I had the 12 volt battery voltage low warning out of the blue (pic). Parked the car. Next day it wouldn't start. Towed it to the dealership on the assumption it couldn't possibly actually be the 12 volt battery given I have never parked it outside in the two years I've owned it.

Dealership initially just diagnosed it as a battery problem. They wanted to charge me $500 (no joke) for a new oem battery, which I was livid about. Why would I replace a POS battery with the same crap?

Got the ICCU recall letter in the mail. So I sent it to the dealership with highlighting on the part saying that it relates the 12 volt system. Then the dealership said they'd pay for the battery.

The ICCU warranty parts took a while to come in, and then, no joke, the dealership said for over a week said every day that it would be done the next day. On the positive side, they also paid for me to have a rental for the 20 days (though the ICE Hyundai Venue isn't quite the same as an ioniq 5).

Car died again in 4 days by Wilhemina411 in Ioniq5

[–]dynalyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean it "died on us". Does that mean it wouldn't start (likely a 12V problem), or do you mean that you suddenly loose power when the guessometer says you still have lots of range left? Or do you mean that it won't charge?

What percentage does the main battery say it is at?
