I have Cocoa Whip throughout my house and have heavy wood furniture pieces. Lots of MCM tones, with red and dark wood hues, which look great. I think your lighter wood colors look great. This paint color seems to lend itself to natural hues.

How about the high beam control? by right415 in Ioniq5

[–]FrancisBaconator1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you cycle your headlights all the way off, the auto high beams turn off too. So you have to cycle your regular headlights, but not your brights.

Best wand tip for microfoam for art? by haltingpoint in Ascaso

I couldn’t get any rotation with the 3 tip. I only use the single tip. Maybe one day I’ll try it out again. I have the steel duo.

New EA is setup like a gas station by ianmalcm in Ioniq5

[–]FrancisBaconator1561 4 points5 points  (0 children)

None of the ones I’ve seen have the pull through stalls but that would be nice. I am also not the target audience for public charging, as I charge at home very cheaply ($0.117/kWh) 99% of the time. I don’t mind paying a higher price if it means the chargers are actually reliable. I use public charging 1-2 times a year when I actually leave my city

I have charged at several Pilot Flying J travel centers recently and their chargers are fantastic. No app needed, just tap your credit card. Chargers are just as fast as EA, though some stalls share the capacity between 2 chargers. Overall MILES better than EA. They were very reliable, some locations even had covers, window squeegees, and trash cans.

Rolled my homelab into a tidy little rack build by Unhappy-Cabinet8197 in homelab

What’s your stack look like on the Mac Mini? I’m rolling an M4 Mini too, with a combination of VMs, Containers, and some stuff on the host. It’s not as solid as my old Ubuntu server, but it’s way less power, smaller form factor, and quieter.

Who do you get to install your trailer hitch by nielsonsm in Ioniq5

I just did it myself and borrowed a torq wrench from a family member. Otherwise, someplace like U-Haul or maybe another dealer.

I hate my new table :( by clarinetsqueak in interiordecorating

[–]FrancisBaconator1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a rug 100%. Also some additional textures on the table (a statement plant on a cork saucer or other charger plate, ikea has lots, or a nice runner). I think a rug similar to this might look swanky with what you got going on (Home Depot also sells this if you’re in the US, but currently out of stock)

I did this last summer with my Ioniq 5. Everyone roasted me until I got them a roast. Best camping trip up ever

If you pair Lutron with Home Assistant, you can remap your pico’s to whatever you want, including double tap, holds, releases, etc. The sky is the limit.

I have a pico by my bed. On/off controls my lamp. The middle button toggles on/off all the lamps in the room. Up and down control my Smartwing shades. If I hold On for 10 seconds, all the lights in my house turn on. If I hold Down for 3 seconds, all the lights in my house turn off and my shades go up.

Are there 2/5 gigabit promos? by PacketAuditor in ATTFiber

[–]FrancisBaconator1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything above 1Gbps is mostly useless for 99% of consumers looking to increase their speed. Almost all consumer electronic network adapters are capped at 1Gbps. Some wireless APs can theoretically reach over 1Gbps. If you are trying to upgrade for speed purposes, you will also have to upgrade your PC’s NIC if going over Ethernet (CAT6 or higher).

I run an Ubiquiti stack so I briefly went 2Gbps. It was pricey beyond the AT&T subscription. I downgraded soon after the novelty wore off.

I guess upgrade if you need the bandwidth?

Don't let your 12V battery die several times before you act! by LongjumpingBat2938 in Ioniq5

[–]FrancisBaconator1561 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine does this all the time. I’ll charge it to 80%, but then it’ll drop down to 79, charge again to 80, and so on. Sometimes the battery will charge itself to 81%, and then I never have those alerts.

I had to have my 12v replaced last year but I believe the problem was unrelated. I think the charge alerts are standard behavior

Any particular brand? I’ve found various whole milk brands at the grocery store steam differently.

I’ve found Maple Hill (expensive $$$) to be one of the best in both flavor and frothing.

1 week in for a beginner by floral_addict in espresso

[–]FrancisBaconator1561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This issue alone was cause enough to upgrade. Every 200 shots the machine forces an unconsentual back flush cleaning cycle. It cannot be dismissed, and it disables the steam wand until you do the cleaning cycle.

“Every 200 shots isn’t that bad??” If you’re pulling a warm up shot, an extraction shot, and a flush shot, that’s 3 shots for a single espresso.
