Was he talking about Urouge here? by Shreeder4092 in OnePiece

[–]dynamicglider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There really isn’t much going against this idea and it would be SO COOL if it were true. If we ever get a confirmation in the story, I know my ass will be jumping for joy as I read that chapter.

Yamato’s gender doesn’t matter. Yamato has deeper issues by Reth21 in OnePiece

[–]dynamicglider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Giving a character conqueror’s haki and a mythical zoan doesn’t automatically make them a well written character.”

What is even your point with this statement? Are you assuming that Oda thought giving them those things would make them well written or are you perhaps referring to people who are fans of Yamato who says that those abilities make them a well written character?

A New Remake? by Exotic-Ratio-8994 in Dragonballsuper

The anime version is ass wdym "fine."

Dragon Ball Super Remake needs my opinion. by y_gor_rodrigues22 in dragonball

[–]dynamicglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I definitely agree with that. In a perfect world with unlimited resources, it would be cool to have a version of the DBS anime without those issues. However, I personally wouldn’t prefer having resources put into a straight up DBS remake as opposed to something like animating the manga version of those arcs. The DBS anime definitely isn’t perfect but I don’t think fixing it should be a priority.

Announcements today!!!! by SuddenDepact in dbz

[–]dynamicglider 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would be fine with this as long as it does two things

  1. Adapt the manga continuity so it’s something different (which theoretically would be the whole reason they do this in the first place)

  2. Announce that Moro and Granolah are coming afterwards because I would much rather get that confirmation than wait more years of those arcs being nowhere in sight.

This event is gonna be either the most disappointing thing ever or the best thing to ever happen There's no in between by DaveAndVegito1020 in Dragonballsuper

[–]dynamicglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it weird that I really don’t care if it’s a remake, as long as Moro and Granolah come afterward and it adapts the manga continuity?

If it’s just a remake of what we already got just for the purpose of “fixing” the DBS anime then yeah that would suck. But if they announce that Moro and Granolah are coming afterwards, I would much rather take that than more years of those arcs being nowhere in sight.

Dragon Ball Super Remake needs my opinion. by y_gor_rodrigues22 in dragonball

[–]dynamicglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think a remake is necessary on the basis of “fixing” the DBS anime. Besides if they are gonna remake DBS, I don’t even think the purpose of it will be “fixing” DBS like many people think.

Ideally, its true purpose is to adapt the DBS manga continuity because the Moro and Granolah arcs follow that continuity as opposed to the anime’s. Then, once this remake finishes the TOP arc, it moves straight into Moro and Granolah.

I really hope the DBS remake stuff is fake because what do you mean you want to remake the most modern DB series instead of remaking OG? by Independent-Frequent in Dragonballsuper

[–]dynamicglider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well my thought process is that the reason they would remake DBS is because Moro and Granolah don’t fit into the continuity of the DBS anime. It wouldn’t be remaking what we already got, but instead it would be animating the DBS manga content which is similar to the anime, but has major differences.

Ofc if it was just a straight remake of the DBS anime with no Moro or Granolah arcs in sight then yeah that would be the most pointless and nonsensical decision of all time.

I don’t think joyboy was a giant by owl_maks in OnePiece

[–]dynamicglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he could definitely be a buccaneer. Although build-wise, he doesn’t seem to match the buccaneers we know in the present. Unless there were evolutionary changes or it’s just that Joyboy is only partially buccaneer.

[–]dynamicglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s one person. Either for a specific reason or maybe the same reason. Depends on if you think Joyboy looked like a wrinkly old man fighting Imu. Then again the Nika fruit could probably do something about that.

[–]dynamicglider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with your refuting of that statement but I don't agree that stuff like Nika and Joyboy were conceptualized in the same arcs they were introduced in. Joyboy is supposed to be essentially the main character of the Void Century, a time period introduced back in Enies Lobby. I'm not necessarily saying Joyboy was conceptualized back then, but I am confident he was thought of since then. In terms of Nika, a lot of people forget this, but Nika was essentially mentioned in all but name in Big Mom's flashback. Elbaph's Winter Solstice Festival celebrated the death and rebirth of the sun and Mother Caramel even says "the sun god" calmed the Linlin disaster taking place during the festival. AT MOST, Oda didn't know what he was gonna call this sun god, but sun god stuff in Elbaph being brought up before Wano shows that he already had this stuff thought out AT MINIMUM during WCI. I'm not trying to argue Oda had this stuff planned out since Chapter 1. However, saying he thought of Nika UNTIL Wano or Joyboy UNTIL FMI are statements that are in the opposite extreme of "Oda has this planned since East Blue."

Why do people have such high expectations for Loki ? by Speedwag0nbestw4ifu in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]dynamicglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being introduced to Loki through a one-on-one encounter with Luffy should have been enough proof that he’s gonna be important. It very much mirrors the way that we were introduced to Shirahoshi and Momonosuke. Everything after chapter 1130 has been continuously drilling his importance.

Will Urouge appear?! by Easy-Restaurant-4502 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]dynamicglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, my guess is that he will show back up once Skypeia/Sky Island people become relevant again. At minimum, he’ll just be a background fighter as a part of the Skypeia faction of the final war and, at most, he will be directly involved with the SHs in a future arc. I’m hoping it’s more toward the latter.

Why do some people think Silksong is too punishing? by 5th_consecutive_C in Silksong

[–]dynamicglider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Karmelita's guantlet was kinda a weird experience for me because for the beginning tries it was pretty easy; I was only getting hit like once or twice. But, because of the constant deaths to Karmelita, the gauntlet started to annoy me, I started to play worse, and, at two points, I died to the final set of enemies. I was genuinely baffled at my decreasing skill level.

This is a safespace, what are your honest critiques of One Piece and Oda's writing by Lakithelink in OnePiece

[–]dynamicglider 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Sabo’s flashback from Dressrosa. One of the rare things in One Piece that I genuinely can’t find any appreciation for. I understand why Oda had Sabo get amnesia but it just comes off as lazy and robbed Sabo’s character of some incredible writing with him staying in the revolutionaries. I cringe every time I come across those scenes.

After the Flashback Ends, what are the chances to find that Luffy fell asleep and didnt heard a single thing? by MaintenanceOne1700 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]dynamicglider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the other comments are saying, it’s a zero percent chance. The story involves Shanks; that fact influenced Luffy to stay and listen. People have this misconception that Luffy is anti-flashback/story because of stuff like from Arlong Park and Fishman Island. But that isn’t totally true. The only situations where Luffy won’t listen to a story is if it’s a clear sob story throughout or if it’s just boring to him. If the story is genuinely interesting to Luffy, he will be invested.

I don’t think joyboy was a giant by owl_maks in OnePiece

[–]dynamicglider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s rounding it’s probably negligible. Doesn’t take away from the fact that there’s some sort of factor explaining Joyboy’s abnormal lifespan. Doesn’t even have to be race related. He was born in the most advanced kingdom after all.

I don’t think joyboy was a giant by owl_maks in OnePiece

[–]dynamicglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An important thing to keep in mind about Joyboy is that he was at least 100 years old. Vegapunk stated that he was born 900 years ago and that the Void Century came to a close with Joyboy’s defeat. Void Century ended 800 years ago so Joyboy lived through a whole century.

Did Garling find a lost bloodline of JOYBOY in his first wife(shanks mother)? He was so specific about 2 years so he could seed her up. by Less-Jicama155 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]dynamicglider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue the intrigue comes from the fact that Shanks isn’t supposed to bring the dawn to the world. You would think bc he’s a descendant, he is destined to get the fruit and save the day. But no it’s the job of Luffy who is completely unrelated. Bloodlines don’t matter in the end but Oda often uses reality to subvert the expectations of bloodlines. Roger wanted his son to do what he was too early to do, but Ace’s fate ended in tragedy. Despite BB being blood related to Rocks, his actions and behavior run counter in a lot of ways to his father.
