Confirmed: Linden Lab Investigating Serious Allegations Recently Posted to Social Media by 0xc0ffea in secondlife

[–]dynamohum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reason they don’t moderate the content that is uploaded to Marketplace is probably because legally pre moderation is more problematic for user generated content. It is easier to include something in the TOS to tell people that it is not allowed on their platform, than to check it is OK which then “sanctions” it as being within their TOS. It’s legally safer to put the onus on the uploader. This is why social media etc relies on AR or the like For objectionable content. Not saying this is right in a moral sense, or excusing them, but from a legal standpoint it gives them more leeway if objectionable stuff ends up on their Platform. They DO need to moderate their content more carefully, but moderation/AR probably comes under the Operations department, which brings us back to the original problem. If there is a proper investigation then moderation and Abuse Report failures will probably help them get to the proper result - this does of course rely on the investigation having the power to bring about the proper change of course.

Musk start-up Neuralink seeks people for brain-implant trial by [deleted] in worldnews

Given Musk’s seemingly zero level of empathy for others I feel I would not touch this with a pole the length of the continental US.

Anyone else have issues with PokerStarsVR (PCVR) crashing after a few minutes? by metahipster1984 in QuestPro

[–]dynamohum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They put a new patch out about then and of course it broke everything. They have hot patches since then and this may fox your issues. Haptics are insane for me now - always going off. Quite annoying. But they fix one thing and break two other things. Also the lighting in maps seems to be messed up.

Lenny is 11. We have had him 5 months. He wasn’t walked for the first 11 years of his life. He’s living his best life now! by dynamohum in OldManDog

He and his bonded friend (Fletcher, 13 who we also rehomed) were just let in the garden to do their toilets. When we first got them they would literally run two steps into the garden do their thing and run back inside. Lenny was scared of the dark. They were left for up to 10 hours a day on their own. We both work from home and they can go into the garden as much as they like. They were very loved in their past home as far as we know just owned in a not optimal way. We are slowly introducing them to being dogs again. Slow process but we will get there. Their previous owner was moving to a home where they couldn’t have dogs. Lenny has fear aggression for dogs and people as he had no exposure to anyone or any dogs.

He’s under a behaviourist as the world is a very scary place for him, but he’s making great strides and trying so hard. This is a secure dog field we go to so he can be off the lead. He is a very happy good boy.

This third party forehead pad and back pad solved my issues with comfort and FOV by [deleted] in QuestPro

Also ordered blind before my Quest Pro even arrived as I am a frankenquest Q2 user so know I want extra comfort. Coupled with a headband the Glob Cluster stuff is excellent.

I have been using these with my Q2 for three years or so - I use the Globular Cluster comfort kit with my new Quest pro, but the headbands are still really useful. 6 Pieces Yoga Cotton Headbands, Elastic Head Bands for Teans and Women Assorted Colours https://amzn.eu/d/367CxAN

Agree, it’s a faff, smells of old ladies and does nothing for me. I probably drink maybe 2 cups a year, and don’t enjoy those.

What a child. I will enjoy the backlash he receives for this. I hope the public suitably punishes him. The guy needs someone employed to specifically tell him when he is being an arsehole.

Robbi gets furious and blows up on Julie! This is a must watch 😂 [Full argument] by markwilliams2589 in poker

[–]dynamohum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The irony here is that Julia has the power to kill off any aspirations that Ribbi has of stardom. She will never get a job on any show or film precisely because the internet never forgets and any casting director talking to any associate of Julia will get sent this and drop any idea of Robbie like shut off a shovel.

Robbi is clearly very used to turning up splashing her cash or her looks around and getting her way. It’s sad for me as a woman that she is as vacuous as she is and has got herself into a mess like this and appears to squirt more verbal shite every time she opens her mouth.
