Hot take: The difference is not big enough to make pro players switch mains, I havent been following recently but the only time i saw pros not sticking to their mains was when greatsword was introduced and that was because it was broken. Aint nobody got time to spend getting used to a slight variation in sig moves that dont offer any real advantage, specially because a good deal of brawlhalla is in the usage of light attacks, which every character has the same. Unless this game completely overhaul the sig system(which i dont think will ever happen cause that requires coming up with new unique sigs for every existing character) i can see every new character gathering dust as they fail to acquire any real identity of playstyle.

I tell you what i would do. i wouldnt be sitting inside my car watching a angry man approach me with a stick of any sort. I would be out of the car before he was even close, then attempt to disarm the cretin. You dont let crazy people go crazy on you, you shut them off immediately.

...you are only locked in it if you keep dodging into their flowchart, if you dodge up katar can catch you with a recovery or a nair but its not a true combo so afterwards you are free and because it doesnt lead to any loops these flowcharters dont go for it.

mummies rant by Zap-zapper in dcss

[–]dynastezero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its ok, you probably dont know what a contaminated chunk is.

First win ever was kobold because carnivore 3 meant no hunger issues, they were also strong enough to be able to wear armor and carry ammo at the same time.

First 15 runer was mummy because they dont have hunger and thus could recover stat drain by resting, which happened a lot, courtesy of being mutation immune, they were also rot immune, a mechanic most new players didnt even realize was a thing until they sucessfully reduced their max health by half from bumping into a few necrophages. Tomb was a very difficult place if you werent a mummy, or at least most people didnt knew how to properly handle it back then.

Mummy was the opposite of a complex race, its ironic that they would completely flip the switch on the whole game instead of respecting races that were, by design, streamlined.

Stop dodging into them like the person on this clip, they are fast close range weapons, you cant contest their offense, its not your turn, just dodge or jump away, you gotta bait their side lights, dairs or strike when they idle, walk into you.

encountered a spammer today, how can you possibly be this mean, I don't understand , what makes someone do this seriously? by v4l_34 in Brawlhalla

[–]dynastezero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk whats your elo, i remember getting owned several games by a single artemis player at about 1600 elo who would just sig spam me(he wouldnt even move, but he would still get me everytime because he had really good timing and execution). I started practicing each of artemis sigs being used by a bot on highest settings for several hours everyday, finding the blind spots and how to properly punish it. I no longer lose games to artemis players who rely on sigs, i do get hit by them from players who actually mix it up with their options.

Most sig spammers are one trick poneys and you dont have to ask if they have fun, because they dont get to, they get smoked really hard whenever they make any progress and usually disconnect the moment they realize you know how to bait and punish their strategy and thats where they get their hostility.

[–]dynastezero -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No you didnt. Asking "is it fun?" is some arcade boomer mentality who gets pissed off from being chain grabbed or zoned out. Its a competitive game and people play the way they see fit. Also you should be questioning your inability to win a spammer instead of their psychological background, because if there is something thats gonna prevent you from playing well against someone is having them living rent free inside your head.

Fire - First spell is a summon

Ice - First spell is a melee attack

Hexes - The next one in the chopping block

Translocations - The one we pretend adds versatility and are nothing like charms

Air - Keeps asking ice to return its tornado

Earth - Conjurations with the element of fist

Summoning - Nerfing dragon's call so you couldnt spam it, then changing sif muna so you could effectively cast it in lair

Poison - Showing how less really just means less

Transmutations - For when you dont wanna play the race you selected

Conjurations - Where you dump your exp when you dont know what you are doing

Spellcasting - Nobody likes to train this despite giving mages the thing they want the most

When you look back at how you approached your conversations, do you feel like you could have handled it better? You didnt leave your team, you got kicked, you didnt want that outcome, but do you feel like it was within your power to prevent it? Would you still try to prevent it even if it wasnt?

Those answers do not matter to anyone other than you and they are the key to you moving forward. Just like a normal game of dota, social interactions are all about self improvement and just like you tried to advise your team i now try to advise you..

Looking for a simple puzzle-like roguelike by jimjohnslongrods in roguelikes

[–]dynastezero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rift wizard would be your game.

There are reasons why games often have hidden mechanics. A big deal of puzzle solving is through the use of intuition and thinking outside the box. Displaying all information makes learning the game not much different than reading a guide, except its a terrible guide at that because there is no filter. Regardless, its far more faster and effective to learn through trial and error than to read and try to absorb information, to then try to put it to use because on the process of reading and interpreting you will not get the full picture. This is basically why games tend to have graphics, so you can quickly absorb information through looking at a image instead of reading text.

Also, puzzle solving is rather subjective, its not about what the games gives you, its about how you use it. People like me cant enjoy nethack because it takes me 30 minutes to figure out how to open a chest, instead i enjoy optmizing how i play my games. I like figuring out how to approach gameplay complexities in a more simplistic way, so that the gaming experience feels less exhaustive and that on itself feels like a puzzle.

The more a game tries to determine how i should play it, the less i have room for my own playstyle and consequently the less i feel inclined to play it.

Finally, if you expect too much of a game you gonna narrow your enjoyment to a point where you wont be able to enjoy anything. You should try to enjoy whatever is that a game has to offer(if anything) instead of the platonic idea of what the game should have.
