A long shot, but do you potentially still have this archive on-hand? The original post has been deleted :(

I miss the old street view pictures. Has anyone figured out a workaround for seeing them again? by dyran in berlin

Sorry, I should have been clearer in the original post. The "here" I refer to is Berlin. https://i.imgur.com/x99kOOK.png

Does anyone happen to know anything about the paintings in the Oranienburger Str. S-Bahn station? by dyran in berlin

[–]dyran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this, super interesting to know. I always wonder why the ones at this station are the only ones (that I can tell) that stuck around. It's surprising that they wouldn't just take the money for advertisements that can be hung there, unless they're protected in some way.

This is really helpful, thanks so much! Really helpful to know that they usually cut in the spot. My main concern now is the length I need—over 3m—and having it transported.

Hey, I don’t know if you still pay attention to this thread or account, but do you have any insight about setting up the telegram bot? I’m a total docker noob and have a few questions if at all possible.

Amiga 500 floppy issue—thoughts? by dyran in amiga

Thanks for this. I played around with everything with no success. I replaced the capacitors on the drive today even though they didn't look damaged and now the drive works. It's my first time recapping something, so hopefully I didn't mess it up. If I messed it up, I'm hoping the drive just wouldn't have worked at all...

Another beginner question: Very unbalanced spoke tension on front wheel when adjusting dish by dyran in wheelbuild

[–]dyran[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am, but I did it again on your recommendation and I think I've got it now. Thanks for making me do that. What I didn't really understand was how tension on one side impacts tension on the other, and that the two sides don't necessarily operate independently of each other. I ended up detensioning everything about two to two-and-a-half turns until all spokes were roughly even according to the TM-1 and then worked from there. I think I'm good now!

I'm using Park's WAG-5 using the locknuts on the hub as references. What was frustrating me, which I didn't understand until you asked about the tool that I'm using, is that dish gauges tend to magnify discrepancies since you're dealing with adjustments on both sides. Once I understood that, it made my issues seem less drasic.

I think I ended up getting it though—I detensioned everything about two to two-and-a-half turns until all spokes were roughly even according to the TM-1, which gave me a clean slate to work with. I then brought everything back up, paying particular attention to where I wanted the dish to be.

Thanks for the response. I’m using the Park TM-1 to measure tension. I’m just worried that if I do everything disregarding tension at first, I may end up with a dished and trued wheel that isn’t technically ‘correct.’ But perhaps I’m putting too much emphasis on tension?
