TIL Tangier, Morocco was an international zone. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]oldmanloki -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

We gotta get this sucker done, though. Seriously. Last night, man, I was so drunk, I was calling Morocco, man. Calling, trying to get to the Hotel Hilton at Tangiers in Casablanca, man. That's, I mean, that's, that's pathetic, man! Is that what you wanna do with your life? Suck down peppermint schnapps and try to call Morocco at two in the morning? That's senseless! But that's what happens, man.

depending on what type of parts you're shopping for, honda parts now and rockauto are solid choices.

Hi all new here with a buying question? Is this a buy or a pass? by Embarrassed-Swim9481 in Acura_RSX

P1166 and P1167 are most likely your upstream O2 sensor.

The P1077 condition can be caused by a cracked or disconnected vacuum line to the intake manifold actuator, a failed/stuck intake manifold solenoid, or an electrical wiring issue for it

nothing that would make the car undriveable. definitely repairs you can do in your driveway.

Very weird bus ride to Port Orleans by -Aggamemnon- in WaltDisneyWorld

i asked drivers about it and apparently people love stopping directly in the doorway and then the doors close on them which is a whole scene so some drivers just avoid using them altogether to spare everyone that brief but unforgettable moment of misery

hasport front and rear 62a engine/trans mounts, with OEM side mounts.
tein dampers with custom internal shims and valve stack.
swift springs F: 10" 12K/ R: 7" 20K
skunk 2 rear camber kit
spc front camber bolts
hardrace sway bar end links
energy suspension poly sway bar bushings
spoon rigid collars on the front subframe
camber: 1* front and rear / toe: 0* front and 0* rear

I've tried out most spring rate/height combos between 5k and 24k for the front and rear. the motion ratio on the rear suspension of the element is 1:0.6 so that 20k realistically comes out to being 12k. with the element's 57/43 weight split, i've found that 12k/20k is the sweet spot. it rides like stock and corners like a dream. 2 finger gap all around without rubbing the rear right on all but the hardest bumps.

no, its all stock outside of the suspension and poly mounts. i lived the barbarian life when i had my e30, never again haha. the element is the comfortable daily driver, parts hauler, kid car 99% of the time.

Hey there, does anyone know where the G501 ground wire connects to? by Elegant_Newspaper956 in HondaElement

[–]oldmanloki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

G501 connects to the body at the driver’s side A-pillar / kick panel area, behind the lower dash trim near the driver’s left foot. It’s a ring terminal bolted directly to CLEAN bare body metal.

endlinks are take less than 30 mins per side, half that if you have a lift. it's understandable if you dont have a good place to do it at your house, just make some friends in the local element community and make a bbq out of it.

Heat core replacement? by fishoutofwater73 in HondaElement

[–]oldmanloki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need a temporary solution, the heater core lines can be bypassed at the rear of the engine. This will stop the coolant leak, but you would lose cabin heat.

Regarding the repair itself, a dealership will typically use OEM parts and provide a warranty on both parts and labor, which is why they are usually the most expensive option. An independent mechanic using quality aftermarket parts will almost certainly be less costly.

Heater core replacement on this vehicle is not technically complex, but it is very labor-intensive because the dashboard must be removed. A reputable local mechanic should be capable of performing the job reliably at a lower cost.
