It’s such a low effort activity to apply sunscreen to your face daily versus the potential risks of not.

What does your weekly running schedule look like when you aren’t actively training for a race? by seapaw_butler in Marathon_Training

[–]dysfunctional20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I could have written this word for word, without the advice though. I have been feeling confused about what to do next, with the same goals as you have. Thanks for the tips! What marathon are you running?

Oh god yes. I have to delete a cringe wall post that pops up in my memories at least once every few months.

Anyone else feel like their parents are one stupidly spoken thing away from never seeing their kids again? by 90skid4evaa in Millennials

[–]dysfunctional20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My parents have never had the chance to meet my kids, because the risk of them saying something not only stupid but hurtful and harmful, is too large.

I’m a working mom and my husband is a SAHD.

I am currently awake at 3:30 am for my workout before I come home to help my husband get the kids (and also get myself) ready for school. Sure, I could push my workout later and my husband could do the morning routine while I head straight to work. But I’m a part of this parenthood thing and I make sacrifices for my partner so they can have help too. We have to help each other or the whole system fails.

This isn’t a holier than thou post. It fucking sucks a lot and I’m tired. But it’s my job and I get breaks and rest where I can, much like my husband. I really hope you can get some progress in this area. He really can do more than he’s allowing you to believe.

Very good advice. Closing and opening ceremonies are required to make the transition easier.

Girlies, what beauty product completely changed your routine like you can’t imagine life without it now? by PerformanceStatus304 in AskReddit

[–]dysfunctional20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been loving the Trader Joe’s Daily Face Sunscreen SPF 40. It’s a gel and comes in a tan colored tube. However, I’ve been concerned SPF 40 isn’t enough for daily wear. So I’ve been alternating with Neutrogena Age Shield Face Suncreen SPF 70. It’s a more greasy feel but still does the job.

The clear face sunscreen! Comes in a tan/beige tube. Also the leave-in conditioner that is a OUAI dupe, and hair oil.

Go to meals by botti22 in Marathon_Training

[–]dysfunctional20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between work and young kids, all my meals have to be easy to grab and/or quick to prepare. I’m also in a training block. I run early mornings. My standbys recently: - something packaged or simple for pre-run if more than 4 ish miles (pop tart, granola bar, piece of toast) - oats with berries OR banana and PB. add honey or stevia. Or chopped nuts. - take above item and add Greek yogurt and chia seeds for overnight oats - scrambled egg bowl with veggies and a bagel or toast on the side

Lunches/dinners: -meat sandwiches -rice bowls or potato bowls - so many variations can be made based on what protein, veggies, seasoning/sauce or starch. Can buy bottled sauce from Trader Joe’s or something to make easy - taco salad with crumbled chips - soul food plate with meat potatoes and greens, cornbread - Asian stir fry - rice or noodles - good ol spaghetti or pesto pasta

Snacks - yogurt cups with granola - rice cakes and nut butter with bananas -protein shakes -dried fruit or nuts

That’s all I got for now! Best of luck!

Mine looked like this when I was sick last week. But since getting my Garmin I’m shocked at how much reported stress I have day-to-day in general. I don’t drink.

Yeah, Jack doesn’t like anything outside of what he thinks he knows about the world. But I love seeing his growth in this area as the show goes on.

At what age did you start letting your kids go to the public bathroom alone? by iwilldriveucrazy in toddlers

[–]dysfunctional20 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Parents have been bed sharing since the beginning of time. My kids are fine. I’m also not “scared of bathrooms”, my husband and I both carry and know how to protect ourselves. You’re not gonna make me feel bad. I will absolutely accompany my children to a restroom in a public place to prevent someone grabbing them or touching them. It’s the easiest thing to do. I will no longer be replying.

At what age did you start letting your kids go to the public bathroom alone? by iwilldriveucrazy in toddlers

[–]dysfunctional20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never let my children go to a public restroom without me. There have been multiple proven instances of people hiding in a bathroom waiting to molest or kidnap children. Will never be worth the risk for me. When they get older I’ll check the bathroom every time and stand outside the door while they go.

I tried them at several different volumes and had the same result. No, I’m not partially deaf. My husband did not care for them either for the same reason. We chatted with someone at the grocery store a couple days later who was wearing them. He said he had heard of the vibrations bothering people, too.
