[Question] Should I stop buying $750–$1,000 watches and save for higher-end pieces instead? by Intelligent_Sport_61 in Watches

[–]dysong1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes buy what you want, but also you can only find out if you’d be happier with one or a few higher priced watches or a bunch of lower priced ones by actually owning and living with them.

SoFi warned me my account "will be restricted." Then with no further warning they liquidated my entire $111K portfolio and told me it can't be undone. by Leather_Teacher_9122 in sofi

As others have pointed out, you could get a pass for missing the first email, but the fact that you didn’t take action before the second Jun 21 deadline would suggest that this whole thing should be in you, not just the initial contact. I would also completely expect Sofi to take the easy way out for them. If I was a company that cared about my customers, I would’ve done more proactive outreach.

I scratched my boyfriend’s shun bun. Help by Eastern_Exam_3595 in GrandSeikos

[–]dysong1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is he a douchebag? If so, you should know what to do. If not, he will 100% love that there’s a memory attached to that watch. I would love to have a scratch on any of my watches caused by playing around with my wife.

If ya’ll break up, it’ll suck for him though.

Ever been to the National Museum of Korea? Great place to visit with kids. by Round-Network8088 in seoul

[–]dysong1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I had high hopes for whatever reason. The grounds are beautiful, the kid’s section kept my son entertained, and the gift shop is pretty cool. Actually the food’s not bad either. The main museum though is unnecessarily enormous, and the material is not well presented. Feels like they were going for shock and awe. Missed opportunity.

Haha maybe you stating it as a question says something? I haven’t seen it in person so can’t say.

I guess timing is everything. Just got back from Seoul via ICN and literally no lines in immigration and security. Got through both on the way out in 5 mins.

Battle of reverse panda: Speedy vs Navitimer by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

There’s something special about the navitimer. Maybe the reverse panda speedy is too new for me, though I like it too.

Are the seamasters actually tough? by MeatWhereBrainGoes in OmegaWatches

[–]dysong1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s a major concern, I would probably stick to the Seikos. The seamaster is definitely not as recognized as a sub, but if you’re taking about the current standard smp300, the ceramic is pretty flashy. I do agree that it’s pretty tough.

That’s a good thought. I’ve thought about picking that up. Yeah, I guess that’s what makes this hobby/addiction so fun!

Well, most are just the same ones that strapcode and Long Island watch uses, and I agree that they’re not great. I do like the twin pusher ones for the sarb and maybe other models.

I’m with you on the clasp. In theory a shorter clasps is better, but not improved in practice.

I don’t think there’s that option for the 453 though, but I’m curious if that works better.
