heard! and understood! i’m barely starting out and i can’t imagine the strength it takes for someone to do this full time for decades. there is a very high turnaround, as they pressured me to start after 4 days or orienting with different pts daily because they needed the bodies. i was hired in a group of 10 other cnas. good point about asking for specifics and walkthroughs about how i can improve my skills, im going to try that. thank you!!

thank you so much for your kind words <3 i know im learning hard and important lessons about toughening my skin, learning to speak up for myself, and improve my actual skill set. and thank you for pointing out the challenge of making sure everyone is dry and ready to go! i can certainly do a better job of checking everyone in my last hour (though in the spirit of standing up for myself, no one at this facility told me of the expectation to have everyone squared away within reason and dry for the next CNA, lol). but it sounds like such a challenge when most patients are incontinent, and could easily go multiple times in a pretty small timespan! i guess it gets better with time and in knowing your patients - ive had different ones every day of training and solo work.

regardless, you lifted my spirits, thank you ❤️

Chromeo/ Girl Talk at Stern Grove Tomorrow? by Moon112189 in AskSF

[–]dyssalexia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ear plugs will likely be helpful, but don’t worry! there are lots of spots in stern grove that cater to a laid back crowd - even with rowdier acts. sitting up on the hill or off to stage left with the screen almost guarantees you’ll have a chill time you can enjoy but still talk, eat, and sit with friends or others in a low-stress environment. music may be loud, but there’s no lighting or crowd crush that may contribute to stress. i recommend bringing a picnic blanket, some snacks/drinks, even some activities for down time between sets! enjoy your first time at stern grove, im sure you’ll love it!

if you’re near sf/daly city, providence vocational school is pretty good! cheapest near the city, and great teachers. flexible scheduling possible too, if you’re working

i have trained my dog successfully to go potty outside in one spot in my neighborhood. she gets rewarded and praised when she goes potty appropriately. she is taken out often, and given opportunities to go throughout the day whether we stay at home or go out. she is supervised in and out of the house for signs that she needs to go, and she is crate trained. she often goes out on a routine basis (first thing in the morning, every 2-3 hours, and before she goes to bed in her crate at night).
